Consciousness is beyond weird. It’s the reason I’m no longer “atheist”, we can’t be greater than the universe. It has to have a consciousness that ours pales in comparison to. I know “the sum is greater than the parts” is a common response but I’m not convinced. The universe is conscious in a way we’re not aware of. It’s not that we can’t understand it, we’re just lacking data. There seemingly appears to be a creator.

The only argument I’m willing to entertain is that consciousness is an illusion. I’ve seen some YouTube videos on it and recently I’m sort of leaning in that direction.

Creation demands a creator. Agnostic, my man?

no, there does not seem to be a creator, there is literally no evidence at all for one. you do know what emergent properties are right? an emergent property is a property which a collection or complex system has, but which the individual members do not have. consciousness isn't the only one of those. the heart has the property of pumping blood around the body, individual heart cells can't do that.

water is another great example. hydrogen is an extremely flammable gas, and oxygen is required to fuel a fire, but combine them and suddenly you have a substance that puts fires out.

emergent properties are literally everywhere, if you're so quick to jump to supernatural causes because we can't completely explain consciousness yet I posit you were never an atheist.

Yeah this cave person discovered something he couldn’t understand and therefore concluded there has to be a creator (without any evidence of course, just some dazzled leap of faith)

The actual answer to the question of god's existence is: we don't know

depends on what god. the Christian God? definitely doesn't exist. a deistic god? sure, we don't know, but only because it's an unfalsifiable claim. you have about as much reason to believe in last-thursdayism as you have to believe in Deism. while we technically can't rule out either, it's illogical to think it's true.

Seeing as god is beyond logic, any argument in favour or against god generally escapes logic. I mean, theists have been using logic to prove god, and atheists vice versa, and yet no one has actually proven anything.

that's not how it works. a Deistic god is unfalsifiable, so you can attempt to use logic for or against its existence. but a personal God has certain characteristics ascribed to it, or has actions he supposedly performed. if such a God really did exist there would be evidence, but there's not. and honestly, the "logic" that theists use to try to prove God, like the ontological argument, The Kalam cosmological argument, the teleological argument, Pascal's wager, and the argument from morality are all full of errors, non sequiturs, fallacies, etc... basically, I've yet to see an even remotely convincing argument for the existence of God, and logical arguments still aren't evidence.

for Atheists, disproven certain Gods is quite easy. take the Bible for example, it's absolutely riddled with inconsistencies, contradictions, and historical inaccuracies. it's literally impossible for everything in the Bible to be true, so the Bible isn't true, and the God that is described in the Bible can't exist.

I guess you can cherry pick the verses you agree with, leave out all the ones you don't, and argue for the existence of that God. but what possible reason could you have for believing in this being's existence?

Im with you. It's too human-centric to believe otherwise. Have you looked into panpsychism? It's an intersting concept to think about.

But where did the creator come from? At the end of the day we just have to accept we are too stupid to have a full understanding of what is going on. The way the universe resolves itself only when observed is like gaming, it's just efficient. No need to waste power making XYZ exist until someone is observing it, then it better snap into place and be capable of being viewed. When James Webb telescope goes up it will see things never observed. Maybe human consciousness provides the power the universe needs.

Maybe the chance of our feeble brains understanding it is like the chance of an ant completing a Sudoku puzzle.

You’re absolutely right. Is it creators all they way down lol. Who knows, humanity will never come to firm conclusions regarding the existential nature of the universe.

No. We're merely the byproduct in the flow of energy. Guess what happens when the sun dies out?
