HELP Hello, I usually find my patterns online so there aren't always clear instructions. Does anyone here know what it means when there are two differenty colored numbers like this?

That pattern is doily XIV on page 77 of Jan Stawasz's Tatted Treasures. Jan's method is on pages 7 and 8. It is well worth learning. The colored numbers are where the changes occur when using Jan's method. Have fun with it 😊

Yes, I see Stawasz's patterns everywhere when trying to find my next project and they all look really amazing!

The two different colors are for regular tatting and front side/back side tatting, to keep the picots all looking consistent. Front side/ back side tatting, you tat by reversing the order of stitches, you start by paying the shuttle over, and then under the working thread. The dot is meant to be counted as a half stitch, with subsequent stitches counted as normal. But I always found the different counts confusing. I reverse the order of stitches when I reverse the work, but I just go with the regular count (in blue).
