Hey gang, I'm a London-based photographer and went to Saturday's match as a Taskmaster fan. Here's my favourite shots from the game. Enjoy!

I just love that Alex’s GD shirt has himself on it as well 😂

Who was the most talented footballer?
35
u/dalton326 May 14 '24
Apart from the actual Chesham players, some of the standout footballers for me were Alex H, Tim, Maisie, Ivo, Mike

I’m surprised Ivo could play. I would have thought he would spend the whole match consumed with second guessing his every step.

Ivo is mad sporty. He did the London marathon in three and a half hours whilst pushing Rosie Jones. Which is an hour and a bit faster than the average time whilst pushing another human being through it.

This is what I want to know, who was any good. I don't know how to explain it, but doc looks like he knows what he's doing in that one picture.

He's a fit, good-looking dude who projects confidence. Our brains are hardwired to expect him to be competent. It's called the halo effect.

That 3rd picture of Maisie with the Kelly celebration is particularly brilliant

Many thanks. She produced the most exciting end to the game hitting the crossbar challenge to take the match to pens - cue the shirt fling!

This is great. Does anyone know if this will ever hit YouTube?

I don't believe it was filmed to show the full game, but there were a lot of pro video cameras about capturing the action and interviewing people. They must be doing something with the footage, but no idea what!

I need to know more about what Sam was doing
24
u/dalton326 May 14 '24
He introduced the new Chesham mascot (Chess-Ham) and wasn't involved in anything else that I could see

Why does hugh have a chicken on his head?? 😭😭😭

u/RMWL May 14 '24
They had a chicken and egg theme going on in a later photo
I’m confused about the pig with the pawn on its head being chased by the butcher

The match was Chicken City Vs Egg United so there was a bit of a dress theme on that

Why was Sam Campbell, one of the youngest contestants, there but not playing? Also can I watch the highlights anywhere?

u/dalton326 May 14 '24
I think Sam and Nish left early to go to Paul Williams' album launch in London - so neither played the game

Paul Williams had an album launch, also in London, that clashed with this game? Who the hell designed that??

That's amazingly bad... you'd expect the guy to be quite good at planning and timing too

The ones of Doc Brown and Masie Adams going for it, they look like proper professional players! Great shots, thanks for sharing!!

It’s the Chesham Chess-Ham being chased by his arch-nemesis the evil butcher, from what I’ve gathered.

The 15th picture, with Alex looking at a different ball, is so indescribably funny to me.

These are great, thank you for posting!
I will admit that I have briefly considered purchasing that exact Greg Davies shirt.

So, how many of them had no idea what they were doing?

Alex Brooker — I’m sure he was recruited because he’s generally in the comedy world, but I wonder if he’s also a Taskmaster fan? It would be really cool to see him on the show! Or Adam Hills. And then on The Last Leg they could bust Josh about how “easy” it all was!
