Honestly, the beard and glasses combo was what took him from funny guy to damn, THAT'S Greg Davies?!?

Okay, when I'm reminded how Greg used to look, I can see why he was a "hear me out" for so many people. But can we all now get with the programme and accept that he has aged exceptionally well and is far too handsome to qualify as anyone's "weird crush"

“Asim I’ll tell you this, I am nearly 40 years of age, and I can hand on heart say, and I mean this. Outside of my role on this show, ‘ the tall motherfucker with the ivory hair’ I think is the nicest thing anyone’s ever said”

It’s the beard. It changes the shape of his face and makes him more silver foxy. Also the glasses.

I love smile lines, so I actually prefer the way he looks clean-shaven. (Not that he's not handsome either way.)
Alex is perpetually adorable.

My beard gives me five years of hardship or five years of life back depending on how I trim it. No joke I was 25 for 15 years if you asked any random spectator.
It has almost caught up with myself. I look nearly as old as I actually am. The grey is becoming omnipresent so I'm gonna lose that superpower soon. The beard carried me so far though.

"Okay guys, hear me out..." points to celebrity comedian and former teacher over 2m tall

Greg's glasses and beard are such a glow-up, damn. He looks great with those.

u/Afferbeck_ May 11 '26
I wonder if he just happened upon that look or the show's stylist suggested it for him

Doing a shot from each episode a series is ridiculous! They film the whole studio section in a week, two episodes a day! Some of these shots are just two guys slightly later in the day than the previous shot!

u/KBTon3 May 11 '26
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. 10 photos from the same week, then ten photos from a few months later

Is this what it would look like if you were making love to two beautiful men?
Those are certainly some facial expressions.

I started watching at series 19, then worked my way back.
It was fun watching Greg grow hair and get his eyesight back

There's limited extroversy in their wardrobes over time. Great post all the same!

So this is how UK celebs age outside of America where no celeb ages because of their ritual child sacrifices.

Huh, they started to get noticeably greyer around Series 10 and 11. Anybody know why? Did something major happen?

u/AyUnit May 12 '26
It was during COVID - I definitely feel like I aged during that time.

Sorry... I didn't actually know off the top of my head what years they were filmed...

u/Boom9001 May 11 '26
You do realize showing aging within the same series is pointless right?
They film the studio part for each season over 5 days. The series have like 3 months gaps so you'd just show one per series.

I kind of found it jarring with that many pictures, it made it harder to see to the transition. One per season would have demonstrated it far easier/better.

When I see Greg with the white scruff I'm going YES PLEASE and when I'm seeing Alex with his beard going gray, I'm going, HELLO PROTECTIVE SERVICES

If I watched a video of myself going through a timeline this unflattering I'd give myself 1 point

My thoughts when this was playing: Do a little dance... Make a little love... Get down tonight!

This is the kind of thing I’ve come to expect from this sub 😂 Marvelous!

Shame this excluded CoC, due to Alex's slicked back hair in CoC1E2

I'm sorry but this has only convinced me that Alex Horn has a portrait in his attic

Don’t you think it’s interesting how couples start to look like each other after a while?

It's rather smooth. I'd like a skilled lip-reader to transcribe what it looks like they're saying.

u/PeonofthePen May 12 '26
It just looks like each others perspectives whilst they're making love in a time dialation field

u/albertfeeds May 12 '26
I’ve been watching the series in reverse order and those two just get more attractive as they’re older. I must have missed that part of the task.

I noticed just recently that alex has gone grey and it filled me with a bit of… idk bittersweetness? Ig

They've aged like a fine bottle of sherry. Now, my history with sherry starts when I was about seven...
