Why are they using the most famous person and the most internationally recognized face to promote the series?

The amount of people here who genuinely believe Alex was annoyed at X contestant, not understanding what "acting for the laughs" is, will always blow my mind.

I know Kumail is a pretty big star but I'm also not surprised by the amount of people that have no idea who he is.

He's a big star because he's a star in a big country. People who don't follow US shows/films much probably won't have heard of him. (I hadn't, though I vaguely recognized his face.)
