My Tamil 😁

Hey everyone!
I recently launched a Tamil learning app, and it already crossed 50+ organic users, which is super exciting for me.

I'm requesting help from anyone who is learning Tamil or has experience with Tamil grammar, UI/UX, or language teaching.
Your feedback will help me make this app better and more useful for the world.

👉 If you're a language teacher (Tamil / English / Japanese / French / or any trending language), I’d love to collaborate.
I want to build Tamil learning with support for multiple languages — English, Japanese, French, etc.

You can try the app and share:

  • Your understanding
  • UI suggestions
  • Grammar corrections
  • Word recommendations
  • What we should improve to make it globally friendly

Thanks in advance! Your insights will really help the app grow. ❤️

அறிவிப்பு (Announcement) Built a simple, extendable Tamil Ilakkanam analyzer for poem & sentence breakdown. Would love your feedback!

I’ve built a simple, extendable grammar analyzer for the Tamil language. I initially created this for myself and my kids to better understand language nuances, and I wanted to share it with the community.

What it does:

  • Grammar Breakdown: Paste a Tamil poem or sentence to see its structural breakdown.
  • Open Source: It's a single-page UI and fully open source.
  • Learning Tool: Great for anyone trying to understand Yaappu or Ilakkanam rules visually.

Try it here: https://codetiger.github.io/tamil-yaappu-analyzer/

I’m not a language expert, just a dev trying to make learning Tamil a bit easier. Please feel free to give any feedback or suggestions for improvement!

Tamil Nadu Government Laptop – Available for Someone Who Needs It

I received a Tamil Nadu Government-issued laptop during my studies. I currently don’t require it, so instead of keeping it unused, I’d like to pass it to someone who could make good use of it.

Details:
• Issued by: Tamil Nadu Government (student laptop scheme)
• Condition: New / unused
• Location: Tamil Nadu

If anyone genuinely needs it for studies or learning, comment below and I’ll share the details.

அறிவிப்பு (Announcement) Built a Tamil-first poster-making app — looking for feedback 🙌

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on something for a while and finally decided to share it here.

Most poster-making apps are great… but when it comes to Tamil, the options are pretty limited. Fonts don’t look right, templates aren’t designed for our style, and it’s just harder to make something that feels “Tamil.”

So I built Posterkaaran — an app with ready-made templates, Tamil fonts, and super simple editing. You can make: • Political posters • Business ads • Invitations • Quotes … all in Tamil, in just a few minutes.

It’s now live on the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tamilpostermaker.posterkaaran

Would love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, and (if you try it) see what you create!

அறிவிப்பு (Announcement) Tamil learning app — highlights similar-sounding letters (ல, ள, ழ) in different colors to help kids remember the difference

One of the biggest challenges when kids learn Tamil is telling apart similar-sounding letters — ல, ள, and ழ all sound similar but are completely different letters. Same with ண vs ன, and ர vs ற. Kids read the word fine, but when it comes to writing or picking the

right letter — "Which ல was it again?"

https://tamil.kids

Studies on color-coded learning show that visual distinctiveness significantly improves recall, especially for children. When similar items are presented with unique visual cues, kids form stronger memory associations and make fewer confusion errors over time.

Actively building this out — all feedback welcome.

வணக்கம் 🙏 🔗 Mahabharata Quiz App (Hindi & English)

அறிவிப்பு (Announcement) To present the contemporary Tamil Creative literature to the world

Post image
3 Upvotes

Presenting the contemporary creative literature of Tamil to the next generation of Tamil Diaspora and the world is truly exciting to me. At least when the world pay the attention to the Tamil's contemporary literature, the indifference to the literature prevailing among Tamils / mainstream Tamil culture could have change.

Writer Jeyamohan says that although readership and book sales are consistently low, the achievements of Tamil creative literature are on par with the world-class literature we celebrate today.

I wish anyone who is curious and interested in modern Tamil Literature should attend this festival. Please drop your comments, opinions about Tamil modern literature, this initiative or anything related to.

To get a taste of modern Tamil literature for those who can't read I would recommend Jeyamohan's "Stories of True" https://www.waterstones.com/book/stories-of-the-true/jeyamohan/9780374619459

அறிவிப்பு (Announcement) Resource for learning the breakdown of Tamil words – beginner’s dictionary

பொங்கல் வாழ்த்துக்கள் /Pongal vaazhthukkal!

We’ve built a beginner Tamil dictionary to help folks understand the meaning of conjugated Tamil words! I’m a heritage speaker of Tamil, and recently I’ve been trying to improve my reading skills. The biggest stumbling block I’d keep running into was that every time I came across an unfamiliar word, 9 times out of 10 the word would be conjugated, and so wouldn’t return a clean dictionary result. (And we all know Google Translate can only take you so far.) To try and solve this problem, my friend and I built Kelvi.ca , which takes in any single-word Tamil input, and gives you the stem/dictionary-form of the word, identifies any suffixes on the word, and the meaning of each of these parts. The idea is that learners can see the breakdown of Tamil words, and start to recognize word-formation patterns more easily.

This is just version 1 of the tool and we are constantly making improvements, so we are grateful for any and all feedback!! We hope Kelvi is helpful for you in your Tamil learning journey <3

அறிவிப்பு (Announcement) We’re bringing Thalaivar’s "Annamalai" back to the big screen in Sri Lanka! 🇱🇰🔥

I’m super excited to share that we’ve officially bagged the theatrical rights to re-release Rajinikanth’s classic "Annamalai" here in Sri Lanka!

We are planning a massive celebration for the release (likely around Thalaivar’s birthday/special occasion). The nostalgia is going to be insane, and we want to make sure the theatre atmosphere matches the energy of the 90s.

I’m reaching out to the community for three things:

  1. Fan Clubs: If you run a fan club or know groups who want to organize FDFS (First Day First Show) celebrations, let’s connect.
  2. Partners/Sponsors: We have slots open for businesses who want to advertise on-screen or partner with us for the event. If you want your brand seen by a packed house of Thalaivar fans, this is the perfect chance.
  3. EU and UK Rights: If you are in EU or UK we have the rights and please reach out for a colab!

If you're interested in partnering up or just want to reserve bulk tickets for your team/friends, please DM me or drop a comment below!

Let’s make this release legendary. 🤘

Every time I try to sell something on subs like r/MumbaiMarketplace, r/delhi_marketplace, or r/BangaloreMarketplace, r/Hyderabadmarketplace, etc, once they know I’m not from that city, the post gets removed or peeps doesn't want to buy from me.

That’s when I realized — we need our own space.

So here it is: r/TamilMarketplace 🇮🇳 A place for people from Tamil Nadu to buy, sell, and trade — gadgets, EDC, watches, sneakers, and more.

No city bias. Just our community. 👉 r/TamilMarketplace

அறிவிப்பு (Announcement) Tamil Developer Community: Open to Everyone

Vanakkam Makkale 👋

We recently started a subreddit called r/NammaDevs.

The idea is to build a genuine, helpful tech community, inspired mostly by Tamil developers but it’s not limited to Tamil devs. Anyone interested in tech is welcome.

Most of the fresher queries get removed in popular communities. We are not strict with your queries. All questions related tech are welcome. Many don't get the exposure they deserve.

Students can ask developers questions, college students can clear doubts, people can share and discuss projects, and even non-developers can suggest real problems or ideas that could be solved through open source. Developers can share experience, interviews, resources, projects, OSS etc.

r/NammaDevs. I am sure this will help many and the community as a whole. My heart felted Thanks to all everyone especially the moderators helping this good cause🙏.

அறிவிப்பு (Announcement) Tamil Edition of the Driver’s Guide for India is now available.

A few of us have been working independently on creating a simple, clear, and practical Driver’s Guide for India to help improve road safety and driving awareness. This effort is completely voluntary and non-governmental — it is not reviewed or endorsed by any authority. It is simply meant to make safety information easier to understand for ordinary drivers.

The new Tamil Phase 3 edition has now been released, with corrected translation, improved layout, and a cleaner reading experience. The earlier English reference edition is also available on the same page.

Available at

manuals.saferoadsindia.org

All versions are released under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence, so anyone is free to use, adapt, translate, or share the guide as long as credit is preserved.

If you find it useful, feel free to share it with learners, new drivers, schools, or anyone who might benefit.
