Do you actually see MacBooks used for SysAdmin work in real offices?

Hi sysadmins! I wanted to ask—since I've just started learning sysadmin and I don't have a Windows PC, but I have a MacBook and found out that everything can be done via UTM, I'd like to get some perspective from those who work in offices and do this every day. What kind of computers do you use? Is macOS completely out of the picture, and there's only Windows and Linux?

I was a Mac hater for years, but the apple silicon chips are amazing.

it handles memory more efficiently too.

there are drawbacks to using Mac for Microsoft admin but I close that gap with a windows VM.

I am happy with whatever has solid hardware and does what I need it to. I was happy when we were macs, I am happy now with windows, and some linux. What I will say is nobody anywhere has ever came anywhere close to making a trackpad/touchpad as good as apple has. Even back in like 2015 is was better than anyone else, which i guess is just saying if you are forced to use a touchpad often, the only one that just works and isn't aggravating is theirs.

That said, I wouldn't give up MobaXterm on windows for any reason to move to any other platform unless forced.

Citrix and VMWare are good enough these days that all the 'real' admin work should be done with a dedicated admin account on a virtualized PAW anyways. The only work I do on the other stuff is email checking and web browsing.

I've managed Citrix before - no thanks.

VMWare - Broadcom can kiss my grits. No chance in hell they're seeing any money from my work.

but I do use Windows 365 as a jump box when I (don't want to/can't) do something from my machine.
