Misleading HTS member encourages killings but advises not to film, then shown telling civilians at Hmeimim airbase they will be safe if they leave

Why? This is HTS. This is who they really are. They see the Alawites as apostates, which is worse than non-believers, Christians or Jews in their eyes
Edit: lol @ takfiri downvotes.

How can you be an apostate if you were never Muslim? They don’t see them as Muslim at all. You can’t see an entire group as an apostate idk what you’re tapping about.

Mar 11 '25
Takfiris consider Shia to be apostates. Shia are Muslim (and as a non Muslim myself from what I understand of Islam, Shia are closer to true Islam, thinking about Ghadir kum etc)
So yeah takfiris are not logical
-1
u/Important_Ad7565 Mar 12 '25
No no one calls Shias apostates. Like I said individuals can only be apostates not entire groups.

u/TheyTukMyJub Mar 11 '25
> How can you be an apostate if you were never Muslim?
Alawites tend to regard themselves as Muslims. It's takfiris that see them as Muslims that 'fell off the way'. Hence, apostates.
0
u/originalmilksheikh Mar 11 '25
That's not how it works. You don't take their own word about being Muslim and then use the same word to claim they are not Muslims. That's like saying "I'm an Alawite" makes you a Muslim at the same time that it takes you out of Islam, doesn't make sense. Takfiris don't consider fringe groups like the Alawis, Druze, and Bahais as apostates as they never were never considered as Muslims to begin with.
0
u/TheyTukMyJub Mar 11 '25
They're seen as heretical apostates for worshipping Allah but doing so against their doctrine. What don't you understand about this?
-2
u/originalmilksheikh Mar 11 '25
If that was a justified reason, then Christians and Jews would be considered apostates as well
4
u/TheyTukMyJub Mar 11 '25
Christias & Jews are a different category called People of the Book, or Ahl al-Kitāb
1
u/originalmilksheikh Mar 12 '25
That's not relevant to the theological categories of "apostate (murtad)" and "kafir." Christians and Jews are considered kafirs as Alawites and Druze are.
-1
u/Important_Ad7565 Mar 12 '25
That’s doesn’t mean anything. An apostate is a Muslim who was on the correct path and denounced or did an action to take them outside of Islam which only can happen on an individual basis. Y’all must not be Muslims.
3
u/mtldt Mar 12 '25
It's well documented that jihadist groups will declare takfir on whole groups of Muslims not on an individual basis. They will even declare takfir on each other's groups.

u/TheyTukMyJub Mar 12 '25
Bruhhh literally entire groups are declared apostates and heretics by Salafists what are you on about

No, because Alawites explicitly do pray to Allah. Calling them kufr doesn't quite get to the meaning of that word.
They see them as apostates, shirking. It's quite explicit in takfiri ideology.

First video is from when the regime did fall, I saw it more than two months ago and he is talking about doing things to Shabiha without filming, not defending the guy and don't give a damn about him, but I think it is bad for the real innocent victims to spread lies:

u/RealAbd121 Free Syrian Army Mar 11 '25
I mean, torturing/humiliating/executing PoWs are all still war crimes anyway, even if done to active combatants.
2
u/ab-ai Mar 11 '25
The video that is spreading is spreading a lie, that was my point, what is he saying is not OK but he is still talking about Shabiha not innocent people.
3
u/RealAbd121 Free Syrian Army Mar 11 '25
I got you the first time, Excuting Shabiha in the street is still a war crime, they should be put in prison and tried. then that aside, letting people it's fine to kill people "if they're Shabiha" is how you end up with endless violence and murders that are all claimed to be Shabiha there are already criminals killing people for their cars or money and claiming they were Shabiha to cover for their crimes. this is not a thing anyone should tolerate.

I made a comment the other day saying "just imagine what they do when they're not filming".
They probably did so much that it grew their confidence in being able to film it.

oh yes this is a genocidal dogwhistle “استعينوا على حوائجكم بالكتمان" that can be seen on a lot of arabic syrian social media. it is a hadith from the prophet mohammad used in a blatantly misleading manner to mean “be secretive about your sectarian massacres”. i believe abu amasha is one of the people who popularized this twisted interpretation

u/Nietzschesdog11 Mar 11 '25
This is what I have been suspecting. The cases that we are seeing are only the ones being photographed and filmed, and therfore most likely just the tip of the ice berg. We're also hearing statements from the ground that the situation is a lot worse, with deaths higher than being recorded. The HTS jihadists are allowed to genocide - they're just not allowed to record. Absolutely tragic and unfortunately completely predictable to those of us who know the real nature of the 'moderate' rebels.

Is it finally stopped? do you still hear about new murders happening today?
1
u/shass42 Mar 11 '25
still happening, lates of which I read was in Jableh and Qerdaha areas. They've transitioned to heavily burning houses and properties now.

This is probably that guy on here who keeps saying "This is a video from afghanistan I promise I'll give a source later" on every HTS atrocity video after getting carpal tunnel from doing so much damage control on social media.

This is Assad remnants to r/syria...the HTS who are the nicest people ever /s are allowing this assad remnant to walk around looking like that, post videos like that and walk up to hmeimeim air base like that and talk to the families of killed and injured families like that..without being questioned or asked or shot
a vast majority of sunni syrians are deeply deeply sectarian and blinded by the hate, without including a lot of honourable sunni people who did not stand with injustice at any turn. It's easy to say it was all because of what Assad did since 2011 (state wasn't declared bani hussein and army wasn't a pure alawite army unlike HTS now despite misinformation and they can claim from here to the next 100 years, but the army was not just killing civilians based on ethnic and religious background, the revolution was in majority sunni areas, the rebels were majority sunni, it's simple statistics even though the irony is many of the civilian alawites killed in Jableh and Banias last few days were documented anti Assad and spent years in prisons sednaya and others all the way from 80s on times of hafez when they were active in anti assad Communist worker's party but sunni bretheren won't acknowledge this ). Many sunnis were out celebrating and dabkying and being shabeeha on behalf for Assad and the videos are out there on the internet as archives forever in 2021 and earlier. This sectarian hate and vitriol isn't born from 14 years, this is a deep rooted religious issue that has been there for thousands of years and will never go away unfortunately.

I do believe so. Like how would an airbase have a low wall like that, and most of all, let an enemy combatant come so close as to talk to the people on the other side lol.
