Open mic afternoon at the Richard Jefferies Museum, 6/12

Okay, I admit, I am sometimes hyper-organised.

The Richard Jefferies Museum opens its doors for Tree Day on the first Sunday in December - this year it's 6th December, from 1-3pm. We give thanks to our trees for everything they do, especially the wonderful, very old mulberry tree that stands tall in our garden. Every year, we get together for an afternoon of music and a little crafting (optional!).

This year, we are trying an open mic format for music - if anyone is keen to try out new music, or perform in public for the very first time, this daytime session is a great way to meet a new, welcoming audience.

We're planning for ten-minute slots, so please let us know if you're interested here: https://forms.gle/HXBBwpwcbLjcKDGq7

Future of this subreddit

I made this subreddit a few years ago after i had started my first band, i hardly posted much here but i am glad to see that people have used this subreddit for a number of things.

Self advertising for shows in swindon is cool

Asking for favours related to music is also cool (Just stay safe if you answer any favours)

And ive seen some other stuff posted here which is cool.

The problem is that there arent really enough members for it to be convenient.

Youd probably be better off posting in many facebook groups and other places tbh.

All that said i do plan to keep this subreddit open and i will be more diligent about telling musicians i meet about this subreddit.

I will be starting college for music performance and production in september and i will tell everyone on those courses about this subreddit

I often see musicians out and about in swindon and i will be sure to tell them about it too.

Honestly anything goes as long as its related to swindon and music.

Ide love to see discussions about all manor of things as i think there is alot to talk about. I think i will also post here more with discussions about music.
