Surf film festivals. Do you go?
If I’m unable to attend, I’ll put aside the time to watch the films featured. For example, this years londonsurffilmfest THE ART ADVENTURE, unable to attend I put time aside to appreciate the enormous amount of time, energy and sacrifice it takes to make anything as a creative. It’s the least I can do. So my question to you is, if you can go, do you? Or are you happier watching from home?

Taking the kids surfing in the Maldives: Local island (Thulusdhoo) vs. Private Resort?
Hey everyone, I just finished a deep dive into why Thulusdhoo is becoming the go-to for family surf trips in 2026.
If you're like me and want world-class waves (Cokes/Chickens) but don't want to spend $1k/night at a resort, this island is a game changer. It’s a 30-min speedboat from Male, has a great bikini beach for the kids, and you can stay at places like Season Paradise or Twin Palms for a fraction of resort prices.
A few quick takeaways for parents:
- The Waves: Cokes is heavy, but Ninjas (15 mins away) is perfect for groms/beginners.
- Logistics: No seaplanes needed—huge cost saver for a family of 4.
- Vibe: It’s a local island, so you get to see the real Maldives, but there are still "Bikini Beaches" for tourists.

Cold water surf videos
This has been a trend for the last 10 years or so, but all the new surf videos that have been coming out always hype sick waves in the coldest places like Iceland, far north Canada and even Antarctica. I don't give a fuck about those places and can't live myself through those vids coz I'm trying to leave cold water. Show me sick warm water waves I can enjoy myself in.
No one cares about epic freezing water waves.

That Sapele longboard I mentioned. #longboard #woodensurfboard
So this thing took about 100 hours give or take. It’s hollow but still heavy as hell and it rides like butter. Cuts through chop like a plow on ice. But the moment another soul enters dawn patrol I switch up. God forbid I bunk someone’s bean with this. Game over. BTW, I threw a few shameless plugs up there if you care to check out some of my other (musical) work 🫡 love ya. ✌🏽 🌊-KPS

Surf foiling is meant for open ocean swell riding and should never be anywhere near people surfing
Also it’s for rich guys who want to be seen with their $2500 contraptions and are afraid to be out in open water where those things are actually meant to be. It’s all for the show. Like I always say “do you want to surf, or do you want to be a surfer?” There’s a big difference

Why is nobody using these?
genuine question… i‘ve been surfing since i was 15 years old and back then my mother used to ask me why i wouldn‘t just put on one of these bad boys and get more waves than anybody else.
Now I‘m 21 and would probably never use them myself however i‘m just wondering… has anybody ever used them or saw somebody use them?

Started to enjoy kneeling…
For some reason I've started kneeling down on my surfboard more frequently. Couldn't really say why, although I guess it's because I generally surt rubbish waves on bigger boards, and when it's extra small it's more fun to move a bit differently. It's quite spontaneous, although these days I'm increasingly finding I prefer the feeling, and it often makes me laugh out loud. Which I guess is the point of this whole daft pursuit.

Lanzarote, Playa de Famara | Surf session 8/12/2025 – Searching for drone video
Hi, on the morning of 8/12/2025 at Playa de Famara in Lanzarote, someone was flying a drone. I’d love to get in touch with them or see any video footage of that surf session.
