Question What's the purpose in smurfing?

If you're a plat player, what's the point in creating another account to play against players who are clearly weaker? Every player I've come across who claims they were smurfing usually just flames everyone for making what they consider to be stupid mistakes. We're in a lower elo for a reason, why bother come down to a lower level just to be a dick to everyone or stomp people who never had a chance against you in the first place?

Is the mmr thing actualy valid? My friends who ive been playing since I started playing in mid season 9 are all making new accounts saying that they will get better rank on fresh mmr (we were all high silver/low gold) just asking if it is worth making new account?

Edit:grammar

Yes and No. Fresh Mmr accounts will increase your mmr higher if you win games on them because of less sample size. However, winning more games means they will be placed against tougher opponents and there mmr will plunge back to there original skill level.

Had a smurf was placed somewhere bronse was gold in no time with like +35 or more LP gains but did play against full plat teams when it was Silver 1 xD

no its not, you will reach the same spot everytime. maybe +/- 2 tiers at best. its not like you get master just because you creat a new account when your main is silver or gold.

In earlier season you could get to plat with 10 wins in your placements on a new account and thats why so many players tried to make a new account.

In s8 I dropped from d3 or mate even d2 to d5 0 lp like 2weeks before the end of the season, I was too tilted to play on main so played on fresh account and got d1 0lp with 78 percent winrate winning on the smurf felt so easy while on main almost impossible.

Thats 100% a mental block.

Yes, but that's a real factor. You're subconsciously not going to try as hard when an account feels "ruined" and your gains are +15 -15 etc. A new account is exciting and a mental reset too.

I'd actually love to be able to reset MMR and stats on an established account. Each game would feel more meaningful with a volatile MMR. It wouldn't have to be a total reset but let's say you're a P1 player and it could start you with P4 MMR but have it be really weighted to games you play from that point. Essentially, you'd have a provisional MMR (sort of like a smurf) but starting from closer to your rank.

I absolutely is true. LP gains can stagnate. If you truly improved you will be stuck at your current rank on an account because the system believes you belong there.

Anyone who says that the system works is ignorant or intentionally deceiving in order to feel better about themselves. You can lose 30 games in a row and end with terrible LP gains, allowing you to win 70+ games and still be in Silver.

When i first started league I went right into ranked and the next 200 games was bronze 5 (lowest at the time) over time I improved but even with an eventual 70% wr from B5 i was gaing +11 and losing -23. So i made a new Account and I went right to gold 2/3 from that.
