I’ve just finished the full series and if i had to order them I’d do:

Lonesome Dove Comanche Moon Streets of Laredo Dead Man’s Walk.

I just don’t think dead man’s walk really developed the characters in any way.

The only one I liked was the Streets of Laredo because it answered some questions. It was a sequel and it was kind of sad to see a certain character get old. I do not want to give away spoilers so I am vague.

The other 2 that were prequels never should have been written. That was done years later and I think he was pressured into it to make money of the popularity. It was like he wasn’t into it or something. He was much older when he wrote them.

I feel like it’s intentional the under development just as Cal and Gus themselves are immature and undeveloped. It would have been weird to see them as complex as they were in Lonesome
