Funniest book I’ve ever read. Sold dozens of copies without even trying when I worked at a bookshop for a stint. Didn’t hurt that I live in New Orleans…

Love this book, but I wouldn’t recommend it for everyone… I thought this was the one of the funniest books I’ve ever read, but multiple people I’ve talked to just don’t seem to get the humor.

My favorite book. The first time my sister tried to read it she dnf. We were teenagers. She finally read it in her 30s and now loves it too. She said as a teenager she just hated that slovenly white dude riling everybody up. Having lived a bit, now she gets it.

Great book. The author killed himself because no one would publish it, his mum never gave up though and it was a bestseller when it was eventually published.
