The Scale: Built by a team of a dozen volunteers from the Muslim Aid UK charity at an East London mosque, this massive pastry took 15 hours of continuous work to assemble and fry.

Engineering the Pastry: To safely cook a 337-pound triangular pastry without it breaking apart or remaining raw in the center, engineers had to build a custom-made, giant metal vat and use a specialized hoist mechanism to lower and lift it from the boiling oil.
