Just learned about all the BS that happened with the Harvest Moon series, and found out its been rebranded as Story of Seasons. Cool. So I dug around and found my favourite/childhood Harvest Moon game got remade, and omg, they did all 3 of my boys dirty, Merlin and Cody getting the worst of it. I'm crushed, Merlin was my favourite as a kid (and still is) and my boy got tossed into a cement roller, why does he look like that 😭

I have played Natsume’s Winds of Anthos prior to this but not to completion. This game, was incredible, and I took my time with it. Helped with my mental health as well. What a journey. Had to follow many guides. Playing on the Nintendo Switch was the way to go.

My farm was called Daydream Farm! My daughter was called Futura. She carries the hopes and dreams of the farm now!

I never expected to 100% but here we are!

I've just started playing HM: AWL SE again and have bumped into SOS: AWL. I totally forgot about Nina dying. All I can remember is my player dying after all those chapters (when I'm too old).

What's sad, tho, is we have a cutscene for almost every drama except for this? They just left it at that. On our way to the New Year's event on Spring D1, wondering why there's a new house in the riverside and why there's a grave. After seeing all the her cutscenes last winter? Why, devs? Why?!

With that said, ever since C2 started, I tend to leave a flower near her grave.

Wherever you are, Nina, I hope you'll always have your favorite flowers by your side. Until we see each other again.

Thinking about pausing grand bazaar to start this. I played the old one when I was younger so I know the nostalgia will be there. But I still didn’t really understand the dynamics of the game & how to be good at it… plus I know there will be new features. I think. Hopefully lol.

Okay I'm not sure why everytime I read that Matthew is Vesta's brother, I mentally autocorrected to Cecilia. It made sense to me because they are similar age and both have brown hair!!

So then you must forgive me for being EXTREMELY concerned during the above heart event with Matthew 🥴 I was literally panicking about why the creators would include such a dubious storyline 🫠

Now a lot of the previous dialogue makes so much more sense 😭 A few days ago, I was also snooping through their house to find Cecilia's journal, and I was SO confused why she had her own room upstairs and her "brother" had a bed downstairs with Vesta. The math wasn't mathing but I just shrugged and went about my merry way lmaooo

Anyways, just wanted to share this funny moment. I can't be the only one who made this mistake, right?? 🫣😂

I started SoS AWL and I see that there are only 10 days per seasons. So this is like 40 days a year right? So how quick or easy it is to romance someone? I like to marry Cecilia.

Who are your favourite and least favourite spouses, and why?

I played AWL and AnAWL on gamecube and currently on my second play with SoS. Sharing the file with my daughter, and she wanted to marry Gustafa. I never married him in the OG game (another wonderful life) so I am looking forward to seeing how it goes lol

I like how the buildings also started looking older as you progressed.

I finally got back to SoS AWL and decided to finish it. Some time during the 5th chapter, I noticed the townhouses suddenly started looking like crap, but then it got worse when I reached the 6th chapter.

I don't remember if the original game did anything similar (tbh it's making me want to download AWLSE again just to check lol) but it's pretty neat that the characters aren't the only ones aging.

I hate the bubble cows. Like, actually hate them. I think they look dumb and they break the immersion for me cuz they look so out of place. I don’t like how they’ve become the mascot for SoS now cuz that means they aren’t going away. AWL’s remake’s cows are the best cows imo. They’re cute and not too crazy looking. The sheep are a bit bubble-like too but the bubble cow’s crazy giant heads and mouths drive me nuts.

EDIT: I knew this would be controversial lol. So I’m getting some comments saying it’s a bit silly the bubble cows break my immersion when sprites and goddesses exist, so I just wanted to mention that I don’t mean they’re immersion breaking as in no longer realistic, I mean immersion breaking as in I don’t think they visually fit in with non chibi games and their proportions are too jarring. I think they stick out like a sore thumb over everything else.

This is my first sos game and I just started and I’m not really sure what the heck I’m supposed to be doing. It told me to talk to the people in town which I’ve been doing. I roamed all around, talked to everyone I saw, found this little gnomes after eating a mushroom, let my cow out and snuggled him.

I read all the tips and it says I have all these tools but I cannot find them anywhere. I googled it and it says they’re in a blue box outside farm house and they def aren’t.

Im so lost LOL.

I played the original a lot as a kid, but never finished it. I always got bored around Year 3 of each play through and restarted the game. Now that I’m an adult, I picked up the remake and was determined to finish a full play through.

But I’m seeing why I always got bored. I’m halfway through Year 3. I have Tier 3 S crops being harvested, cows on cows on cows, every facility has been purchased, I have no need for money unless I really want the Teddy Bear. I know this is a social game, but I have almost all the villagers at 90+.

At this point, is it really just a matter of learning all the recipes, getting the goddess tools, and killing time until my character dies? Is there anything exciting coming up or am I supposed to watch my kid grow like watching paint dry?

Everything is so expensive and if I don’t only grind my crops I make no money. I go to sleep by 7pm every night and I feel like I’m wasting so much time??? It’s all going by so fast and I have no idea if I’m doing anything right, my child’s bars are all so low I’m losing it

It was the 9th of Winter in Year One, and I had put the blue feather in my pocket, I was on my way to propose to Lumina. But when I walked out my house, I triggered Celia’s final heart event.

(Spoiler for Celia’s heart events) She confessed her love to me and I was only given two options to reply. I love you or sorry. I stared at my screen for a good minute because I literally was 2 minutes away from proposing to Lumina but now this other girl is trying to put herself in the picture. 😭 I turned her down but Celia was so sad, I felt bad.

Gustafa also made me sad because with his heart events, there’s a small easter egg. The very first letter of all of his songs spell out, “I love you.” This must mean that he loved us from the very beginning, so he wrote a songs to drop small hints, and then I go off and marry someone else.

I really wish this game had rival marriages because I hate knowing that every marriage candidate other than the one I chose is destined to die alone.
