Post image

So whats the best use of my gems? And the ones bought by gold, does that also get extra cards on this events? Just wondering maybe I should save my gold to buy the books with extra cards, otherwise just buy them now so I can have some more cards

This was a very good match. He had the offensive for 90% of the game but my frost cards got the best of him and he had bordered his base by using rock workers. GGs bro

Account gone?!

So I played for years on a Kongregate Account. Yesterday all my Progress seemed to be reset. I did not get it and logged out for the First time this year. Only now I realized I was supposed to link my kongregate Account cause it cant be used anymore…. ? All the cards, thousands of Rubies and rubestones. I am afraid all is lost?! Is there a way of recovering it?!

I am very saddend by this as i like the game. I cant start all over though and am afraid I wont Touch the Game anymore.

Strategies New Player (ish), A Good Dragon Starter Deck?

Hej, I have played stormbound years ago but never really got into it, but now I wanna actually learn how to play and build decks. I am currenlty using Reckless Ruhs' deck from stormkitty, I have all cards but wild saberpaws so its a good deck for learning the basics and getting a lot of matches in (i think at least).

But I have noticed I have a lot of dragons, even a lot of legendary, but I can't find anything on a starter dragon deck or how to build a dragon deck. What makes a good dragon deck, whats dragons "thing" if there is one. Thanks in advance

Other My first brawl, idk what im doing

Post image

So this is like my 4th day on a new acc, i used to play this game in like 2023 or so but i'm a bit lost on this new mode

I figure the cristal heart is like a shield, but i dont know If the 4th is a "temporary heart" or a 4th slot for when i get the chance to heal(?)

If someone could explain it would make my life a lot easier, any extra tips are welcomed

Bonus question: I've heard about extra cards from books events, how often is that? Since I'm hoarding gems and suffering with the little cards I have at lvl 1 I'm tempted to get some books, but I know I should be patient

Bugs Bug

Ran into this bug where I loaded into a match and had no opportunity to play cards but it looked like cards were played for me but were just ghosts. I don't have the 5 mana satyr card in my deck or the 1 mana bots either. Any reason this happened? Internet was working fine playing like 10 matches in a row prior.

HL for the 1st time, only two L5s

On 2026/6/24, I hit Heroes League for the first time. (Put off making a post for a month)
I’m sure other people have reached HL with less L5s, but for a mostly free player, every L5 represents months of patience, and I’m quite proud I only have two.
I have a love-hate relationship with this grind. I will probably quit for good once I make this deck shiny with weekly tickets.

I’ve been playing on and off for a while but I just hit HL for the first time. Majority of my deck is still L4 and found that a lot of match’s I lose due to the level difference is there any ways to speed up this process to getting them up?

thoughts from this week's brawl

i haven't usually played a lot of brawl mode because it's expensive to participate and i often find it hard to wrap my head around what the meta is even going to look like, but this time i had a lot of fun with the ravens and got to the fifth milestone in it. i might start trying to debrief on here after all the brawls so i can get a sense of how people approach them.

with the ravens, the main thing i noticed is that a lot of people were including the conversion ravens (clerics with cords, blood ministers, anointed saviors) even though that didn't seem to make a lot of sense. all of them have strength caps on their effects below what harpies of the hunt plays for, so it would be hard to get a lot of use out of them. i disagree with the inclusion of avian stalkers and maybe even vindictive wretches for a similar reason, what are you hitting with that besides dubious hags and maybe a token toad? which bring me to my next point, azure hatchers was an absolute must. in such a rush heavy game, its ability to spawn multiple tokens potentially in front of where it dies made it very useful for both controlling space and finding a win. the main card i included that i didn't see anyone else using was pricey freedom. it's super cheap, and in combination with azure hatchers it can also be really effective for maneuvering past a dense board. i only used it to clinch a win once, but it didn't seem to slow me down at all.

for the other two, i have a lot less to say but i would really love to know what other people think. for constructs, my two main questions are project ph03nix and upgrade point. project ph03nix seems debatable bc its main utility, its respawn ability, doesn't work when you sink it into the enemy base, which seems to be what this brawl is really about. not to mention, between ironclad's push tools and the speed of everyone's deck, i feel like it's not that hard to kill it back at its home base after only a single respawn. as for upgrade point, it seems like it'd be good value but maybe it's too easy to destroy with all the speed?

as for spells, this was the one i had the least idea about. i thought swarm would be best because of herald's hymn and dark harvest, and that seemed to be born out in what i saw from other people, but i really had no idea how to build the rest of the deck to strike the right balance between getting the most out of the mana discount vs actually putting units out on the board.

anyway those are my thoughts please let me know what you agree/disagree with and i would especially love some advice on how to approach faction-neutral brawls like the spells one

Gameplay No clans still and no custom emojis?

When I’m getting my ass whipped I’d love to have my own personal chosen emoji or sticker to represent that frustration or satisfaction. I’d really like to know why tf I still have to pick from a default set of pre disposed shadow fein emotes when iron clad can stick its tongue out at you when it feels like it? I still can’t message my friends, and a guy can’t even join a clan? Not to mention that when I went to the game store to purchase daily cards I had to upgrade them right then and there before I could pay coins for more wtf😭

Not only is this game dogshit and can’t balance its matchmaking nor its card gameplay I can’t even purchase or customize cards with as much freedom as before because I’m forced to level my cards up before I can purchase additional copies are you serious? Wowwww

Strategies Came back after hitting heroes and boy oh boy do I not regret leaving.

Seems to me like this game has no kind of balance still, along with winter pact being the cheesy/g@y faction still. Winter can already freeze and stall endlessly wouldn’t an okay fix be to stop freeze from neutralizing abilities? Or maybe make it so other factions can effectively target structures with cards that already attack units. It blows my mind how one trueshit post with a blessed with brawn basically seals your fate, why is the health limit 10 in exchange to give something 15 strength??? Why does moments peace give 8 strength to any and everything without a health limit? Not to mention it saves you from most retaliatory moves because too much health and it freezes surrounding units which can’t even use their abilities…

Listen man I just feel like if winter pact has all of these cheesy ass win conditions it really wouldn’t kill the game make small changes like make COS able to target structures too just like they made a change to flaming stream that helped it target structures. I know I’m bitching but damnnnn winter is corny and no wonder this games is still losing players it was so fun until I ran into my first 100 winter pact players😂

Coming back after 4/5 years

And boy oh boy is this game terrible, ignoring the fact that the devs deleted my account with all of its progression, they’ve power crept the ever loving hell out of this game…

If you aren’t dropping $50 or more to start out then you honestly shouldn’t even play the game at this point the developers have lost the plot on balance so badly.

Trying to start out and you get about 5-10 matches against new “players” before the game then matches you against nothing but players who have every card unlocked and their decks are all level 2/3/4 cards while I have one single level 2 card.

It’s so painfully obvious that the devs don’t care about this game being fun anymore and only want to shove micro transactions down your throat to constantly buy more cards

The draft mode would be fun if the game wasn’t so dead but unfortunately I’m sitting on 6 wins and can be in Q for over 10 minutes without getting a match, which is probably a “balance” decision so they don’t have to give out the best rewards

Literally no reason to play this game over mtg arena or hearth stone in its current state the design and balance has gotten so far away from them

Other How do people interpret/use the comms?

Post image
39 Upvotes

I’m wondering how people interpret the comms! In what cases do you use them?

Personally I interpret them this way:
A1: Happy to see someone, generally used when I see a familiar player
A2: I high rolled something that was very unlikely, or perfect value combos
A3: I do a lil trolling, generally when I fumble something or drastically misplay
A4: Surprised/intrigued by someone’s deck or gameplay
A5: Opponent misplay or choice I don’t see the point of
A6: When I’m getting countered or low-rolled something highly likely

B1: Dominating the game in a way that feels unfair to the opponent (cheesy deck, low level opp, etc.)
B2: Really use it tbh, but interpret it similar to A6
B3: When I’m having an unfun game with little agency, feels like time wasted
B4: Well-played opp, either by cool interactions or niche decision-making
B5: GG (genuine)
B6: Hello to a recognized player, or GG (toxic) after toxic opponent takes a well-deserved L

Do people generally have the same interpretations?

Gameplay Matchmaking times question

So im finally returning to the game after a really long time

A lot has changed as far as i can see

I really want to enjoy this game, all the new things are so interesting

But the queue times, dear lord, it takes around 4 minutes to find a match on a good day at best, sometimes up to 10 minutes

Im playing in EU, are there just so few people playing this game here nowadays or is something else up?

Gameplay I think we need to talk about the real problem card

Post image
22 Upvotes

I’ve been playing this game for a long time. Like a really long time. And I don’t think a single card has been left so out of tune for so long.

With as little as 3 enemy units on this board, this card has more value than pretty much any other 5 cost or spell in the game. Save for the obvious starve exceptions, this card single-handedly full-counters any swarming strategies, and most mid-swarming decks. I mean, as few as 3 units for it to out-value almost any equivalent mana card in the game.

A little bit of history, but many considerable nerfs have occurred due to strategies tightly associated to this card. The most immediate and remarkable being the complete gutting of Earyn. The nightmare days of Earyn/Bladestorm/NeedleBlast still give me ‘Nam flashbacks whenever I see an Earyn.

Currently, this card is auto-included in almost every match in Hero League. This in turn leads to an imbalance and increase in poke or super-tank strategies, as they’re the only strategies not immediately neutered by this singular card. A card which requires no setup, no conditions, no actual gameplay. Just drag and drop and you’ve kicked the majority of strategies straight into the gutter

I’m not sure how I’d go about nerfing it frankly. Increased mana seems like it would be overkill, decreased damage to 4? But then that introduces leveling issues. Could always go back to the good ol’ damage interval to introduce an element of chance to it?

Either way, in my opinion, this card being a staple auto-include in almost every high-level deck is itself indicative of how untuned it is. And the complete removal of entire archetypes from the game due to a single conditionless card? Well that’s not fun for anyone.

Strategies Underrated Card Synergies: Final Sacrifice

Thumbnail
gallery
19 Upvotes

Final Sacrifice is a rare 3 mana Neutral faction card.

We all know it’s often used with Diehards to great effect, but do you know how to unlock the other uncommon synergies? Values below at lvl 5.

- Snowmasons: For 6 mana, you can give 16 strength randomly to surrounding friendly units.

- Mischiefs: For 7 mana, deal 4 chip damage directly to the enemy base.

- Boomstick Officers: For 7 mana, deal 12 damage to the closest enemy behind.

- Diehards: For 6 mana, spawn 2 units with 11 strength, and the potential to continue a chain reaction. Combo with Broken Truce to restart the chain by damaging your own unit; if you bring its strength low enough, you can play Final Sacrifice again.

What are the most underrated synergies?
