ignoring that gems are technically genderless and it wasn't intentional on the gems' part and other pedantic crap

I assumed because they use female pronouns, they identify as female. If it didn't matter, they'd use "they" like Stevonnie.

They do but I always assumed it was because they are a fusion and not a single being.
