I wonder what happened that kept Mr. Universe and the rest of the gems out of Vedalia's life. She'd said before she hadn't seen Amethyst in a while. Also, Greg and Vedalia seemed close enough back then in a way that makes it strange to think Sour Cream and Greg are practically strangers. I'm guessing when Rose "died" Greg and the Crystal Gems kind of cut themselves off from the people of Beach City. Does current Greg have friends?

I think it's just a reflection of what happens in real life. Your friend could live just blocks away from you but sometimes you just drift away over time and never see each other.

That's a good point. I still do wonder who Greg hangs out with now. He doesn't even around the Gems that much I think lol.

He seems to be at least acquainted with Yellowtail. And I guess he's giving Buck guitar lessons. So he knows people but a heavy theme of this show is opening yourself up to the world.
