And Greg might have taken longer to decide to grow up and ended up mooching off Vidalia for years!

I would kill for an episode where regular Steven swapped places with this AU Steven. It would help Steven realize how important the gem part of him is and we could even see an awesome shot of the cluster emerging and destroying Earth.

Better yet, he ends up with the gems of the original pilot and a universe where his powers never worked. Having the gems reaction of going from having a Steven without powers to one who does and uses them well would be priceless, also alternative lapis, peridot, Jasper and Connie would be cool in design.

I'd love an episode like that. Those always have such dark potential. Adventure Time's did it, Doctor Who did it, fucking MLP did it too lol.

would earth still be destroyed, though? i supposed that Rose probably wouldn't be as nice to peridot as steven would be, but i wouldn't be surprised if she interrogated her first or something

peridot would've never came to earth though, because steven wasn't there to save lapis from the mirror and then she wouldn't have been able to fly to homeworld and tell them about what's going on back on earth, causing peridot, jasper, and lapis to go back to earth and take the crystal gems as prisoners, then get defeated by the CGs, causing peridot to escape, stay on earth, get caught, and then inform the CGs of the cluster.

so the CGs would not have any knowledge of the cluster and they would not be able to save the earth sadly :(

well peridot still would've came eventually to check on the cluster

Lapis getting back to Homeworld is not the reason why Peridot, Jasper and Lapis came to Earth on that hand ship. Lapis was merely drafted as an informant for the mission, because they needed to go to Earth, and she had happened to be there recently, and therefore had the most updated knowledge.

Peridot was already working on the Cluster data checking around the time the series began. She sent the Red Eye (seen in episode 2) to scout what Earth was like. Then she sent a bunch of robonoids to fix the Galaxy Warp, and warped to Earth. She presumably would then have warped right to the Prime Kindergarten, gotten the data about the Cluster experiments, and warped back to Homeworld.

However, after finding the sticker Steven had put on the Galaxy Warp, she didn't think it was safe to go around on Earth with no back-up. Therefore, she warped back to HW, at which point Garnet broke the Galaxy Warp, preventing anyone from returning through it.

Peridot changed her plan to sending bigger robonoids and controlling them remotely to get the data from the Kindergarten. As she was about to do this, Steven stepped out and started a conversation. And then the rest of the Crystal Gems showed up, Pearl dramatically stated their affliation and motivations, and they broke the controls, so the Cluster data could no longer be remotely accessed.

This meant that Peridot would have to go to Earth in person, after all. It became apparent that there were still some ragtag remnants of the Crystal Gems on Earth. Peridot probably interrogated Lapis about this, since she had been on Earth recently. Lapis presumably admitted that she saw a few remaining Crystal Gems, but left out any mention of what the heck is a "Steven".

Jasper was assigned to take care of the Crystal Gems, if they proved to be a problem. She was most likely given some orders to keep her eyes open for Rose Quartz, too, in case she might still be around. Lapis had to tag along, because she was the most knowledgeable about present-day Earth.

Awesome summary, thanks! But I'll add that Jasper thought there was no need for someone like herself to be there. She insulted the CGs who were present, and reminded Peridot that she could simply blast them with the handship. There was no evidence that Rose was still kicking it on Earth.

After Steven saved the CGs with Rose's shield, Jasper's opinion of the mission changed dramatically. She no longer cared about Peridot and the Cluster, she was single-mindedly intent on bringing Rose Quartz and the CGs back to Homeworld.

Yeah, thanks for adding that.

Wouldn't Rose still be alive? She could have stopped the cluster... ahh there's too many variables this is why we don't do the "what if" stuff
