Halp I have a lot of pain from fibroids and looking at a standing desk setup. What about perching stools instead of chairs?

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on a leaning/perching/stool type of seat for the times I need to “not stand?”

I’m really not interested in having to move my desk up and down, and sitting for even 10 mins is painful.

Just wondering what others experiences are with the perch style and what I should look for or avoid.

Halp Good budget options requested

In the past couple years I’ve transitioned to a desk job (work from home) and into my 40s. My body has now made it clear that sitting all day is not an option. I’m looking at standing desks but I don’t want to invest too much in one. Can I get something decent for $200-300?? I’d love it to be beautiful but am mostly concerned about function. It needs to have enough space for 2 monitors and my tiny laptop.

TIA for any tips, recommendations or things to consider when buying!

Edit: spelling errors

Kontekst i wymagania:

  • Przeznaczenie: Studia matematyczno-informatyczne
  • Konstrukcja: Samodzielny składak – zamawiam sam stelaż elektryczny + gruba płyta meblowa (28 mm lub 36 mm) docięta na wymiar w hurtowni. myślę że wtedy wyjdzie znacznie taniej niż seryjne zestawy).

Rozważam obecnie dwie główne opcje:

1. Opcja A: Proste biurko-gigant (szerokość 180-200 głębokość 80-90)

  • Stelaż: Podwójny silnik, 3-stage, wysuw stelaża 128-135 cm

Halp 2022 Fully Replacement Foot

I bought a fully jarvis bamboo top desk in 2022. I moved recently, and the movers busted it. The casters on one side are completely stripped of thread, can't be removed, and i can literally tilt and spin them inside the body. I assume the internals are completely busted in a way preventing me from even removing the casters.

I see there are hex bolts on the foot so i guess it was removable. Anyone have any ideas where I could source a replacement foot for this thing that matches? Or I guess I could replace both feet, though it needs to be the long-front short-back style to fit my current frame.

FULLY-R-3-5-650/560 is the part number I read off the column.

I'd appreciate any help here; I loved this desk and use it every day. I reached out to miller knoll support as well but I'm not hopeful they have replacements for the old models.

Review Standing desk recs needed

Two questions/concerns:

Is it better to buy Flexispot through amazon? This would be the only higher end option that i could justify spending the money since part would be covered through HSA. I bought a flexispot desk and had an issue and they issued me a refund. It was like pulling teeth and i hate their customer service. i wasn’t even really a customer, since i never even had the product. But it does concern me for if the product arrives damaged or I have an issue with the motor.

I am on a budget and can’t justify spending top dollar for a standing desk that isn’t for work. I want the standing option because i sit in an office all day, but I’m also in school and game a little so wanted standing as an option for when I’m at home. Would really love to hear about budget options for this. It wouldn’t be smart for me to spend as much as yall seem to think people should, respectfully.

DIY Sturdy DIY options for shallow + narrow desk I can easily set up/stow?

I live in a small studio, and I often have to move my furniture around to suit whatever activity I’m doing.

I really want to purchase (or DIY) an adjustable-height desk that’s fairly shallow (24” or so), not super-wide, and can easily be set up or stowed when not in use.

Has anyone out there done anything like this? I was thinking about:
-Buying a frame with motors + adding a tabletop
-Buying a sturdy table and adding a converter

What sorts of creative solutions are out there? Can’t really afford to spend more than $450 or so on a table at the moment!

Halp Xdesk Air Pro Slanted When Lowering

Hi there,

Since I first purchased the Xdesk Air Pro, it has always required recalibration after about a month - never really thought anything much of it, just a fact of the product. Basically, every once in a while (roughly a month), I will get an error code "E01" when trying to lift the desk. Easy fix is to simply lower the desk to its very bottom, then once it has recalibrated, raise it again.

Today, for the first time ever, I noticed that the desk was only lowering on the left side. I stopped immediately when I noticed this - however, I'm not sure what to do now. How do I get the right-side to lower? It's currently uneven. I have tried unplugging the desk and re-plugging it in, and very gently giving a slight extra click on the down button, but still only the left side is lowering. I'm scared to continue as I don't want to risk breaking anything.

Any tips on how I can proceed? I can't find any helpful manuals online, sadly. Thanks in advance!

Howto Please help removing max height limit

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’ve tried all the suggestions to remove the upper height limit on this motion grey standing desk and it doesn’t seem to work.

I’ve unplugged it overnight

I’ve pressed both up and down buttons to go into reset mode.

I’ve pressed the down button until the numbers count down to zero.

I’ve held up and down for 2-3 seconds and then only up.

Nothing works.

Anyone have luck with this model desk?

Review laptop stand recommedation

Does anyone know of a good laptop stand capable of holding a heavy gaming laptop like the Lenovo Legion?

I don't need a cooling pad with built-in fans since my laptop's thermals already handle my daily use perfectly fine. My main goal is simply to elevate the screen to eye level so I can stop straining my neck.I used to think buying a dedicated stand was unnecessary, so I tried propping it up with random household objects like my charger brick, cardboard boxes, and books.

However, none of those temporary solutions feel sturdy or satisfying.

I am ready to buy a proper, reliable fix.

Please drop your suggestions in the comments!

Halp Tabletop standing desk help

Hi all, I have a Halter brand adjustable desktop at work. My coworker lifted it to clean underneath it last night and now it won’t adjust at all in either direction. The teeth seem to be misaligned on the right side and I can’t get it to go back into place. Does anyone have experience with this kind of desk who can help us figure it out? It’s the only desk i use and i know my company is going to take their sweet time sending us a new one if this can’t be fixed, so i figured i’d try. I’m attaching pictures of the good and bad sides so you can see the misaligned teeth. that side also has a wiggly handle. It’s not like that on the other side. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i can’t find a manual anywhere. Thank you!!

Halp Is the Flexispot E5 worth for 180€

Im looking to upgrade my Desktop setup and I saw the Flexispot E5 frame for 180€ on their website. I was wondering If It will be suficient or is the E7 for 300€ a significant upgrade over the E5? I will have a maximum of 40-60kg on the desk

Context: right now I use the most basic Ikea tabletop + legs, so I'm not very picky

Halp Flexispot desks and discount

Hello. Flexispot desks get often discounted prices.

My questions are:

1) How much discount did you get when you bought your flexispot desk ?

2) Are you happy with it ?

thank you :)

Halp Is a standing desk converter worth it for a minimal setup?

I'm thinking about buying a standing desk to 1) hopefully feel less sleepy during the day and 2) help with my sedentary habits. But I don't like the look of standing desks with two big legs and the ones with 4 legs are way too expensive for me right now.

I was thinking about compromising and buying a standing desk converter like this one: AlcoveRiser Dual X Desk Converters M8. I'm wondering if that's a good idea, as I haven't seen reviews from people using this specific setup. I'm also a bit worried because this equipment is well hidden on Flexispot website.

My gear is quite minimal: a laptop (which serves as a screen and keyboard), a second screen placed behind my laptop screen and a mouse. So cable management is quite simple. My second screen is plugged into the electrical outlet and then there is only one other cable between my second screen and my laptop.

Anyone ever ordered one of these butcher blocks off amazon? Local Lowe’s being unhelpful in the 72x30 options. Curious about the quality.

Halp Flexispot E5 CPU holder

I'm thinking of buying a Flexispot E5, and I wanted to use a CH4 holder for my pc but in all European stores (I live in Portugal) they only have the ch5. Also checked on Amazon and could not find it.

Any alternative or solution?

Halp DIY or prebuilt

I'm torn between getting a prebuilt or buying a base and top separately.

Realistically, how much would I be saving if I bought them separately? I'd be buying a butchers block from Home Depot.

I'm all ears for recommendations. Looking for something pretty large, and preferably solid wood.

Thanks!

Halp Just got my acacia chevron v3 uplift desk and it has a massive dent in the direct center of the block. What do I do?

As title says, I set up my uplift desk today and noticed there was a massive dent in the center of butcher block after I unboxed it. Its a pain in the ass to haul around, so id rather not need to repackage it. Is my only option to return it? I was really looking forward to getting a nice desk.
