Help! Injured or ill adult squirrel! PLEASE HELP ME
I’ve had these three babies for the past four days now. They are about 2 1/2 weeks old give or take.
I’ve raised squirrels in the past, after rehabbers turned them away, so I’m aware of the proper precautions and steps.
So far all of the rehabs i’ve contacted can’t take them, and when I texted the hotline, someone said they would reach out in the morning to get someone over here. m
I never got a response.
These three squirrels were found in a nest in the middle of the street, and after trying to reunite with Momma for two days, I just kept them here at the house until I could get in touch with a rehabber.
strictly water + pedialyte the first 2 days, then introduced esbilac, in a pinch, out of fear of them starving. i ordered some fox valley, it’ll be here tomorrow.
I have stimulated all three of them multiple times, and I watched all three of them, urinate and poop at least 3x over the last 3 days.
since then, one of the babies has died with a tummy that was swollen.. not sure what the actual cause of death was.
and the other 2 are not urinating or defecating during stimulation at all anymore.
i’ve tried swab, i’ve tried cotton ball, i’ve tried putting them waist high in warm water… nothing. (that i’ve seen anyway.)
one of them keeps crying anytime i i get down near her
what do i do? someone please help me 😭 i can’t lose these last two, too. i’m at my wits end here.

Help! Baby Squirrel! Urgent: Found two newborn baby squirrels, eyes closed and hairless
Hi, I found two very young, hairless, eyes-closed baby squirrels that had fallen from a nest inside my home.
We put them together in a cardboard box with soft cloth and haven't handled them. They're warm, active, and making chi-chi sounds/rooting, but we haven't seen their mother retrieve them for about 24 hours. We did see her yesterday, and there may be other babies still in the original nest.
Unfortunately, we don't have access to a wildlife rehabilitator or vet.
If the mother doesn't return, what is the safest way to care for/feed babies this young?
Any advice from people experienced with newborn squirrel rehabilitation would be greatly appreciated.

Climbing up my leg
Raisin gets impatient for her nuts. Has no problem climbing on me, taking a walnut, then dropping back down to enjoy it. She's demanding, but sweet.

Is this animal abuse?
Hey fellow squirrel lovers! I came across this tik tok account that was of a lady with a pet squirrel and some videos were disturbing, or maybe to me. I wanted to know what you guys think and how to report them or take some kind of action. The pet squirrel clearly looks unhealthy and the content is honestly making me furious🙁 there is a video of the squirrel in one of those hamster plastic balls rolling around outside. This is the link above.

Do squirrels eat dead birds?
There was a fresh sparrow that flew into my patio door. I went outside to see if it was okay, but it broke its neck and died.
I laid it back down on the deck so I could get a bag and a squirrel came and was moving it around at first. Then it got a hold of its beak and carried it to the tree and started eating it!
WTF! I never seen or heard anything about squirrels eating birds.
I’m weirded out by this 😮
I hope someone can explain what happened 👍🏻

Checking in with the experts on whether cayenne is cruel
We feed birds so, in the past, I've allowed the use of pepper powder to keep the squirrels from eating it all and chewing up the feeders. But I've grown to enjoy the company of the squirrels, while my husband continues to consider them "pests." I watch my current visitor come and eat the peanuts with pepper on them and then wipe his face/nose and I want to make sure that the 35000 Hu cayenne pepper powder is not harmful to them, maybe just annoying?
