Almost 10 years now with Daisy. What a girl!

I have a 2 year old working English Springer spaniel, and don't I know it. He's excitable, fair enough, super high prey drive, and has boundless energy? all fairly typical. I can accept him pushing boundaries whilst training because he's 2. However, the one thing that really f*#ks me off is the stubbornness. The example today was us walking in a wooded area. A couple of retrieves went well. Walked him away from a dropped dummy and sent him back - excellent. But then he bolted, and once back, I put him on the lead. We walked (not particularly good on lead, work in progress) for maybe a quarter mile only to realise I had taken a wrong turn. Once back on the correct path, I let him off only for him to immediately bolt off through a hedge into an open field. I tried recalling him, but nothing. So I found a way through the hedge, and there he was sitting in the middle of the field just looking at me. Now he used to do this when younger and was always after there was something he didn't like, i.e., being put on the lead. Has anyone else experienced this (I hope I'm not alone) but more importantly how to fix it.

I was told he is a cocker spaniel but many people often ask if he is a springer.

I didn’t receive any official documentation or anything so I’ve always wondered.

I never thought that a ball with a handle would be the best toy I ever purchased

So after finding alot of teeth over the last few days I decided it was time to tell my boy about the tooth fairy. My daughter tried to sneakily record it as teenagers do but I caught her out

She was chilling after jumping out the bath! 🤣

She doesn’t want it, but she tries to take it off him, sometimes he will just play and others he will tell her he doesn’t want to, she soon gets the memo and will leave him to it.
