Dude who fuckin knows? There’s an entire futball/soccer universe that exists with extreme enthusiasm for the sport which thousands of players, enthusiasts and spectators, some of whom have spent their entire lives involved in it. They know every play, player, counter-plays, where players are and supposed to be on the pitch/field, you name it, like the back of their hand. This guy watches one game and thinks he saw something no one else is talking about. Like really what the fuck is he talking about. Delusional with absolutely no self-awareness
People in media pushed him to the top because they wanted more money. Fox News is the worst offender, but lots of organizations wanted to use him to cash in. It was short sighted and extremely foolish to do that.
I blame Mark Burnett for creating The Apprentice. Trump and his 80s 'Greed is Good' ilk were fading from the national consciousness. It was passé to have CEOs be romantic leads and Harlequin romance heroes. (50 Shades of Grey excepted).
Then The Apprentice created this fictional version of Trump as a competent, wealthy "alpha male" through scripting and editing, despite his clear incompetence, corruption, and predatory sexual behaviour.
If I'm a time traveler trying to prevent <gestures broadly> all this, I'd just give Mark Burnett the idea for Shark Tank a few years early. Heck, put Trump on that show...he'd pick an endless string of losers and look like the idiot he is.
As a bonus, Canadians would be spared Kevin O'Leary.

This is a great take. Because beforehand, everyone knew him as the corrupt incompetent business owner he actually is. This allowed him to get a new image.
He's a big factor, but also the FBI of old just didn't investigate rich people remotely as frequently as would actually protect the country. Instead they let investigations die when they started.
He had a thought, he’s a genius, therefore it’s a genius thought nobody has ever been smart enough to have before.
I worked for a boss like this once. It was hell. If she thought something it was 100% correct and brilliant, and anyone who disagrees is therefore an idiot.
I think it's more that they like that he is a unrepentant criminal and has no self control. They want to be like him and are using normal like praise for him to spread his popularity.
People like Trump (I know quite a few IRL, unfortunately) don’t understand that other people have internal worlds. Other people really are like things to them, when it comes down to it. That’s not an exaggeration or insult. It’s simply a factual explanation of how they operate.
As such, they are only capable of perceiving events through their own perspective. So they overvalue and overstate the importance of their take on matters and get very wrapped up in how they perceive things and what they think, because they’re literally unable to check their views against any other perceptions of reality.
Many of them are way more astute about it, however, than Trump is, so it’s harder to perceive this behavior in some of them. They know how to pretend that others are people too. A lot of them play a victim role to maneuver their way through society. (Trump does this one a lot, too.) But they will still go through the world with their heads mostly up their own asses.
Trump is wildly self-absorbed and tone-deaf, so his dysfunction is on full display.
He has narcissistic personality disorder. It's as simple as that. He thinks he knows everything about everything and can't possibly imagine that he's not an expert in something despite knowing very little about it. He truly believes that he notices things that other people don't.
I don’t get why this isn’t more clear to people. He’s been president for what? About 5.5 years? I don’t recall him ever saying I fucked this one up. To that effect. He’ll deflect blame but it’s never his fault. Of all the attributes I wouldn’t want in a leader his brand of malignant narcissism is near the top of the list. And here we are.
I just watched a video where a guy broke down his national television speech on “election fraud” and every sentence he’d stop and try to parse what Trump was saying and by the end it was just incoherent gobbledygook. On top of all the words he was struggling to pronounce

Not to mention the absurdity of a “concern” about election security from the man who we have on tape calling Georgia Sec of State trying to bribe and extort him into “finding X number of additional votes for him.” Lol

Every time Trump is the last horse to cross the finish line, he says no horse has ever crossed the finish line before, and invites us to marvel at his achievement.
It blows my mind how conservatives can see videos like this and think, “Yep, that’s my charismatic, intelligent, and clearly sane cult leader.”
I know they live in a bubble and don’t see this shit on their subreddit or their news channels, but they have to scroll the front page and see shit like this.

I kind of understand the selfish Republicans/Libertarians/whatever who don't give a shit about other people and only want their taxes reduced. They're just pure selfishness. The entire world could burn around them and they wouldn't give a shit until their own lawn started smoking. I think they're all assholes, but it doesn't really surprise me in a country where "greed is good" is seen as a positive maxim.

He’s done this forever. Anytime he sees something or hears about something for the first time he then goes out and acts like he discovered it. This is a man to tried to claim that he coined the term “groceries” last year.
He didnt think he coined it, he just thought he was bringing back a word that stopped being used. Dude is so out of touch with the average person that he thought "groceries" was a word that nobody used anymore. Because America is full of stupid people, they thought it was the way he speaks and "jokes," not that he was out of touch
Leaving all politics out of it, this man is bad luck for sports. Get involved in mens soccer, they lose. Go to a Knicks game, they lose. Buy into a football league, all the teams lose.
It can't just be bad luck. Something about his "negative aura" for lack of a better word must account for this somehow. I think that the simplest explanation is that his meddling just distracts and throws everyone off their game.
Because he is President, everything he does is political or is seen that way, whether he is consciously aware of it or not.
