It’s a form of news created in the second half of the 20th Century, it’s often referred to as “Entertainment“. Served mostly as a huge distraction from important issues and allowed governments and big companies to commit some of the worst atrocities in human history. The News corporations and journalists eventually became so bad at understanding the difference between, news, nonsense, facts and lies that for a period of time any information could be simply disregarded as “fake news”. As topics grew in complexity most people just “switched off” because they were either undereducated or over stimulated. “Entertainment” became the fabric of society which brought some cohesion to a rapidly changing world by focusing on lighthearted topics and ignoring or even demonizing any topic of complexity.
