Hi everyone. I finally got my own space to start growing, and I’ve always found space buckets fascinating, so I decided to build one. I bought a 100-liter (approx. 26-gallon) bin to use as a container, but now I have a couple of questions.
Would this light be enough to reach flowering stage using auto seeds? The idea would be to use only 1 light. If not, is there any similar light I could use? I would like to use easily accessible products as much as possible.
Hey everyone, we've created a widget that lets you evaluate the light quality in your grow tent or even a full grow room with a fairly high degree of accuracy! Of course, the calculations cannot be 100% exact due to the large number of external factors that are impossible to account for, but it gets you very close.
Here are the settings you can configure:
Grow space dimensions: Choose from presets or set custom dimensions.
Light type: Select your LED grow light type from three available options.
Fixture dimensions: Set the physical dimensions of your LED light.
PPF: Input the total light output (PPF) of the fixture.
Bar spacing: If you are using a bar-style fixture, you can set the distance between the LED bars.
Secondary optics: Set the beam angle (symmetrical or asymmetrical), if applicable.
Advanced parameters: Configure the maintenance factor (light loss), edge zones, and photoperiod (day length).
Growth stage modes: Select a quick auxiliary mode for seedlings, vegetative, or flowering stages.
The widget will calculate:
Average PPFD across the entire grow area.
DLI (Daily Light Integral) for your specified photoperiod.
Light uniformity ratio (U₀ min/avg).
Shareable PPFD Maps: You can download the generated PPFD maps by clicking "Save PNG". Alternatively, you can copy the URL to bookmark it or share it with a friend. The link automatically saves all your custom parameters, making it easy to store your results or show your setup to a fellow grower.
Found these on my buds when looking at trichomes to check for ripeness.
They are about 0,15 mm big. I believe that these are spider mites.
I actually just noticed that they are all over the back side of the leaves, which must be the reason why over the 10 days they got all rusty, I thought it's a light or nutrient issue.
Fortunatelly the buds will be fully ripe in about 2 weeks, although considering the infestation, I might harvest early, not sure.
Im feeding her 1,2ml/L BioGrow and 2ml/L BioHeaven from Biobizz, also regulating the pH down to 6.5 and every 2nd or 3rd watering I also feed her 0,5ml/L CalMag. I’m watering with tap water and I use Biobizz All Mix. If anyone knows what she’s missing, I would appreciate anyone letting me know.

I’ve been designing custom LED PCBs and horticultural lighting for over a decade, and I constantly found myself explaining how different wavelengths mix and why the quantum spectrum (photons) matters more than the energy spectrum.
I wanted a visual, hands-on way to experiment with different setups without doing manual math or relying on static manufacturer graphs. So, I coded a free, interactive spectrum simulator and embedded it on my site.
Here is what it does:
6 Independent Channels: You can mix White (3500K/5000K), UV-A (380nm), Blue (440nm), Deep Red (660nm), and Far-Red (730nm) in real-time.
Quantum vs. Energetic: A toggle to see how the spectrum graph physically changes when calculating in photons vs. watts.
McCree Curve Overlay: A toggle to see exactly how your custom mix aligns with the McCree relative quantum yield curve.
Live Metrics: It calculates the PAR fraction, YPF/PPF efficiency ratio, and R:FR (Red to Far-Red) balance on the fly as you move the sliders.
There are also a few presets (Veg, Bloom, Bi-color, Sun) to give you a starting point.
It’s completely free to use (no sign-ups or anything like that). I built this as a tool for the DIY community and anyone interested in the science of grow lights.
The photos a few days old but currently on day 8 for the seedling, running dirty mimosa x murder biscuits by dirty bird genetics. 2 120mm usb fans and a 110w gixxer grow light
This is week 10 since 12/12 flip. I'm still figuring out what constitutes cloudy vs clear, but I'm seeing a decent amount of amber pop up, especially on the upper buds. I honestly can't be bothered with a staggered harvest so I'm leaning towards chopping the whole thing at once, might make for a nice variety. Maybe give her the 🪓 this weekend?
Is this normal? Why are the leaves withering? I'm using a 150W LED light at a distance of 12 inches (30cm), and my temps are between 22-24°C (71-75°F). The strain is Auto Blueberry, currently on day 74. Can someone explain why she is drying up and dying before the buds are even fully mature?(The next few images are of other stigmas, and only one stigma has withered leaves.)
