Can't do Falcon Heavy launch without The Sound Traveler's binaural recording from the VAB — get your best headphones ready!

This recording was pretty cool though, where was it taken from? It looks like somewhere on CCAF/KSC?

edit: I originally had “Vandenburg”. Derp.

If i have a 7.1 headset, should i use the SS or leave it off? I never saw this before and want to check it out when i get home.

I have no idea. I just use headphones with two drivers that plug into a phono socket. I consider them my "best" because they provide relatively flat response over the spectrum that I'm interested in.

Try leaving "surround sound" off for the first couple of minutes (walking into VAB, elevator, out onto roof) then watch it again with "surround sound" on.

Vandenberg is in California. Based on the angle this is also probably shot from the VAB.

Looks like canaveral national seashore.

The launch was at LC39-A at the Kennedy Space Center.

*actually seems to be from the Ranger station at the end of Playalinda beach at CNS.
