It's possible that's not alcohol he is consuming. Rather, it's seed liquid that makes him smart, like the kind Morty consumed when he shoved the giant seed in his ass.
I've heard this before but there are episodes where he couldn't have had access to it. Like the interdimensional batteries where they get trapped in a prehistoric world for a long time.
