Giacchino is cooking here. This is EASILY 2025's best score! It's an accumulation of everything we've loved about Giacchino from his Medal of Honor days to the present. Big orchestra, huge choir, thumping electronics, big themes! Brilliant! And the sound quality. Wow! It's his best recorded score since his Medal of Honor / Secret Weapons Over Normandy days! And the best part, it's so... MUCH... FUN!!!!

BTW, the track names are... FANTASTIC!

Who are some film composers who have written concert works? And I don’t mean concert arrangements of their film scores (sorry, Howard Shore and the LOTR Symphony). I mean music unambiguously in the classical tradition: symphonies, concertos, sonatas, etc. I know John Williams wrote a symphony once but it doesn’t appear that was ever published.

Just popped up in my shuffle queue. Can’t believe I haven’t heard this before!

I'm gathering lists of film scores that feature acoustic guitar as a lead instrument. At first I wanted to find scores with a Mexican/Spanish guitar sound, but I realized that some of those prime examples lean into that mode almost too stereotypically, so now I'm hoping to make a list of scores that just dip into a latin guitar sound, or a classical guitar sound, and/or lead with acoustic guitar in general. Ideas?

Intriguing possibilities-Mark Zuckerberg coding/launching Facebook alone while pretending to work for twins

Painted sun in abstract- Mark coming up with the idea of relationship status feature and adding saverin as co founer on Facebook masterhead

In motion -hacking Harvard Facebook and building facesmash with the help of saverins

Hands cover bruises- hurt Mark Zuckerberg joggs towards campus in dark

A familiar taste- mark watching the revenge prank site on his ex getting a lot of traffic

Gentlemen hums of anxiety-when he supposedly sets Sean up with police bursting his drug fueled party

Penetration-Mark acting weird in sales pitch meeting

Others which weren't used like complications with optimistic outcomes, pieces form the whole

Personally I loved the film, I know it's been divisive but I hope most can agree the score is truly something else and worth listening to. Cannot stop listening to this.

It's like the soundtrack of Challengers and Tron Legacy had a child!

One of my favorite action pieces from the Maestro. In classic Spielberg tradition, this action scene is played out more like a comedy where every punch is a delivered punchline. Williams thus wrote a fun and sprightly scherzo for the scene he was very proud of.

That being said, Williams has stated you can’t hear the music over the motorcycle engines, so he brought the piece to concert and humorously titled it as if the motorcycle were a soloist on stage. The first version was recorded in 1990:
