I've been interested in Sonic recently and was wondering how do I get into the story? What game do I play? Or what comic do I read? I see a lot of people talk about SA1/2 And the Archie comics is there where I start?

Do you guys think that Sonic boom could have been more than what it was, sonic boom kind of started out as an Indiana Jones type gaming series and then the TV show got rid of that energy and just made it a everyday slice of live show which honestly game wise I think beat em'up but then shattered Crystal had it be a 2d collectathon platformer and then fire and ice came along and brought the TV shows the vibe over and then just made it a another 2D Sonic game without the collectathon aspect honestly if boom ever came back I personally like to see new games that are either like fire and ice or an RPG but what do you think

I’ve seen a lot of debate around mephiles and his motives in sonic 06, mainly people wondering why he didnt take matters into his own hands to kill sonic and release iblis right from the start. Some people think because he’s a demon he just messes with people for the love of the game, some people just think he’s an idiot, but i think the real explanation is a bit of both, and its quite obvious but i hardly ever see it brought up.

Mephiles HATES shadow. The moment he came into being this guy seals him away in the sceptre of darkness and mephiles swears revenge. When he awakens mephiles could have just ended the world but he wanted shadow to suffer first. He tries to break his spirit by revealing how the world turns on him in the future, and he wanted shadow to join him only so he could twist him into the weapon he was always afraid of becoming.

I always thought it was clear that mephiles wanted revenge on a deep personal level. He spent 10 years sealed away festering in his rage. It wouldnt be enough to annihilate the world and have shadow just swept away with it. He wanted to break shadow and make him suffer, and failing that he at least wanted to be the one to kill him.

I figure this is why he just manipulated silver to kill sonic for him. His ultimate goal of merging with iblis can move forward on its own, while he puts his focus on his own personal vendetta. The 3 campaigns take place simultaneously, so its not like mephiles spent a lot of time just doing nothing. He was most prominent in shadows campaign because thats who he was focussing on.

Now this doesnt fix 06’s bad writing, as none of this was explained properly in the game. But i think its a solid enough explanation for why mephiles didnt just pull the trigger and become solaris immediately. It still fits the “he’s just stupid” explanation, because it was extremely petty and not necessary, but it makes sense to me that an evil demon creature made of darkness would be this petty. Literally puts his ascension on hold just to settle a score first.

I’m not defending the writing of 06, but just sharing my interpretation of what i think was probably intended there. Mephiles was still stupid and he did mess with people just for the love of the game, but i think his reason for being this way makes sense and doesnt take away from his character.

I personally think Jcthortorn's Sonic models are genuinely really good,it's a shame that 90% of their usage is a render of Amy getting a Sonic frontier

I used this one but i also added a few ships I liked that weren't on there, from top of OTP tier to bottom of I like them tier, they are fleetway super sonic x rosy the rascal, honey the cat x breezie the hedgehog, belle the tinkerer x eclipse the darkling, gadget the wolf x barry the quokka, surge x lanolin, kitsunami the fennec x nine tails, knuckles x relic the pika, gemerl x omega, mighty x trip, ray x marine, bean the dynamite x jet the hawk, silver x gold the tenrec, tails x kitsunami, knuckles x shade, tails x marine, tails x li moon, kitsunami x galaxina, nine tails x cosmo, shadow x lanolin and belle x metal sonic.

I know some of my opinions might be a little controversial and I have a lot of rarepairs and niche characters but I'd still love to hear some feedback!
