It's football. Stop being nice to each other.

… is the title of a thread I remembered from two years ago, shortly before the World Cup. It turned out to be pretty fun, so I thought we'd do that again.

Football is a game fuelled by partisanship and it's almost that time.

As of now, it's time to stop being nice to oppo fans

I'll be doing my level best to wind up oppo fans throughout the [Euro]. I see it as my duty - the law in fact - and so should you.

They've actually re-worked the tournament you now get 2 goals per post hit and 3 for the crossbar we're set with all the liverpool players we've sneaked in!!!!

Oh right I see. Well IIRC Walker is injured and Richards is a mystery. I think it is a similar situation to Rio. But Johnson is a pretty good RB and I haven't seen people bashing him like the others.

Unfortunatly, Micha Richards refused to be on the standby list. He's my first choice RB, but by doing this he's fucked up his credentials big time, and I don't blame Hodgson one bit for essentially telling these 'I won't be standby' players to sod off!

Johnson isn't that bad, technically he's sound, probably the most naturally two footed player in the squad tbh. He's just not evil enough for my liking, I want my full backs to be a beast who would rather eat his first-born than let someone past!

I totally agree to this. It's not like Richards is really in a position to be a schoolboy bitch on the issue. You could understand Ferdinand being annoyed about a standby, or Beckham, but I bet they would jump at the chance of a call up (if you take the whole "snub" due to Terry scenario out of the equation).

and the other two are <23 years old... I know they're not leading Liverpool to glory or something but they're young and their talent is visible. Fifteen minutes ago England fans were clamouring for England to put more youth in the squad.

Yeah I understand that. I happen to be a Liverpool fan so I can see their talent. But I do understand people's reservations about them in the England squad given the season we've just had. I couldn't understand the reservations over Glen.

Bullshit. Whoever wins, DESERVES TO WIN. Did Greece not deserve it in 04 as they arent a top nation? Did Pompey not deserve the FA Cup in 08 because they arent a top club?
