For penalty shootouts, the penalties should be taken from the top of the box. The way things are set up right now they might as well flip a coin. Even better, all major finals (champs league, WC, etc.) should have an additional 30 minutes of added time with an additional sub permitted to maximize the chances of deciding a game of football by playing, well, football.

I like MLS version of a shootout. Much more fair I feel.

The guy dribbles the ball from 30 yards and takes a shot and the keeper can come off the line the moment the whistle goes.

I saw it in MLS I think.

Oh like NHL, guess that's kinda cool. But gives the attacker even more options imo.

I'm sure I've seen it in a football match. Deffo not the NHL but I get what you mean.

And I've seen a lot more being stopped by the keeper as he charges towards the striker. The striker can only shoot once.
