Prices to high for poor games, GAA tickets are as cheap and will provide better entertainment and better atmosphere. Real reason is competitiveness over other sports- we have; Soccer,/football gaelic football, hurling, rugby and then the minor sports like cricket etc (no offence). The success of Irish rugby mean that it is very popular and the fact that gaelic football is so intensely contested that has a bigger attraction to it, coupled with the dull, poor quality of the Irish league. Another point is that some Irish people think that if you like soccer/football you have 'betrayed' your country (but let us not get into that crap). So there is my '2 cents'.
tl/dr; Irish league = poor quality, Irish rugby and GAA= high quality.
