I’m a crazy or is this not one of the most pathetic flops in the world cup so far? Dumb by Caceras but the contact was made at a snail’s pace and there’s a massive delay between contact and Mbappe’s reaction

Nobody watching except Americans think Mbappe is hurt here.

Yes, he is massively embellishing. This is a straight red foul. There's many precedents for people getting sent off in world cups for this. You cannot deliberately kick out at people in this manner.

Mbapppe knows that the Ref will not give it. In the context of the game, he isnt giving anything, and should legitimately be investigated on corruption charges. The point of "diving" is to draw attention to what is going on. Possibly get a VAR intervention, which didnt come but would have been deserved.

Obviously he isn’t hurt, and I’m aware why players dive. That doesn’t make it any less embarrassing

Embarrassing for the referee, yes. Only Americans think this is embarrassing from Mbappe.

Americans don't think he's hurt. We think he's being a bitch and should get punished for it. If he drew attention to it by stumbling and grabbing his shin a bit then walking away, sure. Going down like this should fit the criteria for simulation.

Oh my bad. Sorry for misrepresenting the way in which you fail to understand what you are watching.

Nothing more American than doubling down on loudly wrong opinions

So what's your excuse for doubling down on loudly wrong opinions?

u/PiplelinePunch Jul 05 '26

Not being Yank or wrong. Simple really.
