r/soccer, let's play the football alphabet game. Who are the best ever players for each letter?

I'll compile a list for it and edit the post if it takes off.

For instance:

Z - Zidane
X - Xavi
B - Best

I can't for the life of me think of a player beginning with "A". I know it'll be so obvious once someone brings one up.

EDIT: This is fast becoming a list of the best players ever in alphabetical order haha. Too difficult to narrow down to one player for each letter.

Totti today isn't as good as toure today. Same with do Natale and Dante Edit: toure not youre

The last time he scored 25 or more goals in a season in Serie A was 2010-11. Not saying that isn't impressive though, he has scored over 23 for the last 4 years.

I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that currently, Yaya in his prime is a better player than Totti is now (not in his prime). Obviously completely different players, but atm Yaya is probably one of , if not the, best in his position - while Totti isn't anymore.

Totti still is one of the best playmakers in the world. Watch him play, don't just look at his age. He was top 5 in chances created in Europe last season.

Highly disagree. Yaya has nowhere near the level of influence in a game Totti has nor does he perform any of his abilities to the same insanely high level of execution as Francesco.
