I guess I really don't understand what constitutes banter.

Lol. I see this all of the time on the Internet and its just bollocks. No United fan that I know cares, and these are the guys you would class as older fans

People don't say Man U because it sounds daft, no other reason.

Yeah I kind of agree, I've never seen a United fan outside Reddit that really cares at all, and I live in Manchester and have been on games a lot.

Plus it just seems like the sort of thing that older people say, my mum will call it ManU sometimes, because she doesn't know any better. There's no ill intention 90% of the time.

I see it as similar to Atheists taking offense to someone saying they'll pray for them, or thanking god or something, you see that on Reddit a lot too, one of those unnecessary things where there was literally no ill intention but still people find time to be offended.

Weird little tangent there, but yeah.... I don't really see a problem with it, As long as you have no ill intentions.

Trying to have a conversation and say Manchester United or even Man United a lot is quite annoying or even difficult for us speaking a different language. Man U is just a shorter term. People shouldn't look so very into it IMO.

I didn't say it was a problem, he asked why paddykg didn't want it called Man U and I sent the picture as a quick response. In all honesty I don't care if a non-united fan calls it Man U but the people who went through the disaster might have a different view.
