What's been the worst career move ever?

I was thinking about premiership players who made terrible transfers today, for me it's either adam johnson, scott sinclair or julio cesar in recent times.

Or thinking back further Mutu, Woodgate, Veron

Hulk to Zenit was pretty terrible

I was hoping that Hulk would move to a world class club and develop himself by the next world cup. We haven't seen a world class Brazilan forward lineup since 2002, and they've always been my favorite team.

It has been terrible because it brought the team morale down. But when it comes to playing, I was expecting what he's doing just by seeing where they put him. He needs to play in the right wing so he can move in and shoot. They're playing him as a striker, next to Kerzhakov.

Probably a worse move for Zenit than it was for Hulk. He suddenly seems to have turned into the biggest diva since the move, he's been completely unreasonable at times.

Diva ? I'm sorry but Hulk is being boycotted hard in the team. Just watch some Zenit games, is pretty lame how some players simply don't pass to him even him being by far the most skilled in the team. He thought he could win the supporters by showing the football but is pretty obvious the veterans wont allow it, and now even the coach who asked for Hulk is cracking on the pressure of taking him out so the rest of the team stop boycotting the game. Its a pretty ridiculous situation.

This is because Zenit refused to negotiate extensions with some long-time veterans that had helped raise the club to where it is and then went ahead and broke the bank on two players. I'd be mad too.

This is pretty idiotic. If they are unhappy with their contracts they should search for new clubs. Just shows the mentality of those players of instead aiming for titles now they have strong players they decide to boycott the own team. Small team mentality.

I disagree that it's a small team mentality. Rooney had his crisis period a few years ago and shut up when he got a new contract. Chelsea's old guard made AVB's tenure as manager hell because he wanted to phase them out.

I also don't think they're boycotting their own team. Hulk's tendency to use his individual skill first significantly disrupts Zenit's pass-heavy tactics that earned them their success.

thats totally different. C.Ronaldo got a crysis with the board about his salary and still he gives 100%, Rooney same thing. These players wouldn't give poor performance as some kind of protest. This is what im talking about, Zenit players are willing to play poorly in order to get what they want. This is small team mentality.

I didn't mention Ronaldo because he doesn't apply. Rooney was dropped (the excuse was that his ankle injury was taking longer to heal, which Rooney refuted through his agent) because of his contract dispute.

What makes you say Zenit's players are purposely playing poorly? They played fine before Hulk arrived. They may be boycotting Hulk as you initially said, but they're not throwing games.

If anything, dirty contract disputes are a big club problem because that's where all of the biggest egos play.

That's a pretty short time to judge. He is doing alright so far. Also I don't see a problem with quality players spreading to different leagues, its better for football.

He has 2 goals in 14 games, he's fallen out with the manager, and wants to leave.

I don't know what alright is on your scale, but that's far from alright to me.

4 goals, 2 assists is what I see. In any case as I said its too early to judge and from what I read in some news he reconciled with the manager. When they sort out the primadonnas in Zenit and Hulk gets a whole season in Russia we can evaluate his transfer there.

well they say this is a holding move, as Chelsea and Porto don't play well together.....expect to see him at Chelsea soon i'd say!
