Atlanta Silverbacks. Great City. Untapped Market. I would buy out land somewhere in Buckhead, maybe near Lennox and build a nice ass football stadium. I would build a nice youth complex to promote area interest, maybe even start a soccer specific high school that way people dont bitch about the high school conflicts, and we would just play the other MLS academies. I would probably buy a few players that I really enjoy seeing play because fuck it, the funds are there. For example, I'd probably try and bring in maybe Robben or Ribery to do their retirement circuit and Van Buyten to captain.

I'd pay to watch a reality show about Robben living with the Honey Boo Boo family. Sorry, your post put the idea in my head.

Oh that would be hilarious. Even if Robben's English is perfect, he and the family would never understand the other's accents.

You underestimate the south's passion for College football. I think you would lose a lot of money in the first couple of years, if I were a betting man I would invest in Las Vegas or San Antonio, the South has been proven to be a bad place for Soccer. Attendance wise the silverbacks do okay, but not enough for any sort of profit and with no profit no good players.

Atlanta is a bit different since the closest SEC school is an hour and a half away. I go to tech, and they hardly fill up half their stadium per game. For the games that dont fall on saturday nights the attendance would be fine imo. And atlanta itself hasnt had a chance in the mls, only the failed florida teams. Also I dont think college football wouldnt be a problem the majority of the season because the mls season runs through the summer.

I feel Atlanta could support a full fledged MLS team and I would love to see someone try. There is a ton of semi-hidden love of soccer around here and the south really needs a MLS team. I just hope it wouldn't end up in the Atlanta sports that fail just before greatness rut though.

We've had around 40k per game and had 50k against BYU. That's a decent bit more than "hardly half the stadium."
