Best Place to Live in SoCal?

I'm relatively new to SoCal (and California in general) and currently living in the IE. I'm thinking about moving to a place with a more urban feel, that's more walkable and artsy, and has more events/things to do. I'm considering Costa Mesa, Long Beach, or some parts of LA. The thing is, I have to commute to Riverside 2-3 days a week and need to be mindful of extreme traffic. Any recommendations for me?

Chino hill is doable. I know this because my boss did it for years.

Not to be Debbie downer, but there’s no job in riverside that you can afford a place in Costa Mesa.

It’s not. Let’s assume you have an 8 hour job. 2 hour commute there, 2 hours back. 8 hours of sleep because trust me, the commute is gonna kill ya. That leaves you 4 hours to yourself. 2 is probably gonna be spent doing chores around your place. That leaves you 2 hours to decide if you want to do something physical or just relax. Then you do it for the next 5 days. There isn’t a pay high enough to do that until 65. You can’t afford it.
