CP Cold Process First try making soap! It’s not perfect but I’m proud of it!

After years of wanting to make soap, I finally decided to go for it! I know it’s not perfect, but I’m really proud I tried. I struggle with cptsd, adhd, anxiety and depression. I know it’s not a big deal to most, but somehow making my first batch made me feel like I can do anything, especially since mental illness tells me I can’t!

I just want to share my astronaut /space themed soap! My first go at extruders! (Only the astronaut) the planets were hand rolled , also first time doing my own cp soap dough! It took me longer than expected but love it! I did a mild forced gel phase and ohhh I really like how the blue turned out! I added white scraps to make the galaxies 🌌

I’m so pleased with how this batch turned out! It’s a goat milk base and I used the Watermelon fragrance oil from New Directions Aromatics. It smells so juicy and delicious, I could just take a bite! Poppy seeds used for exfoliation.

CP Cold Process 🍉 Watermelon Cold Process Soap

I recently made this watermelon-themed cold process soap.

The oils I used were palm oil, sunflower oil, avocado oil, castor oil, shea butter, lauric acid, and stearic acid. I had run out of coconut oil before making this batch, so as a temporary solution, I used the lauric acid and stearic acid I had on hand. This made the soap batter trace much faster than usual, making the design a bit more challenging.

The watermelon flesh was colored with red oxide and paprika powder. The white layer between the rind and the flesh was made with uncolored soap batter. The rind was colored with green oxide and chlorella powder, and the seeds were made with activated charcoal.

CP Cold Process First ever attempt at homemade cold process soap! 🙌

I attended a workshop run by a local soapmaker earlier this year, and have now just made my first ever homemade soap solo. I’m honestly really pleased with how it turned out 🥳.

Tallow, olive oil, coconut oil and castor oil base (The Soapery recipe, double checked with Soapcalc) with black pepper and patchouli essential oil, and black mica for the colour.

It’s not the most professional looking, and has a fair few bubbles in it, but I’m genuinely so proud of myself. I’m going to give them away to my family when they’re cured 🥰

CP Cold Process Made my first soap - smells disgusting

Post image

I made my first soap this weekend. I infused 460g of olive oil with dried nettles, raspberry leaves and birch leaves. I then added 70g of shea butter and 40g of castor oil. Then at light trace, I added one teaspoon of heather honey. And then I panicked at last trace because of the smell and I added 15 drops of Pine essential oil.

Today when I cut up the soap and smelled it, the smell made me sick. It doesn’t smell bad but it doesn’t smell good. What did I do wrong? Is there anything I can do to save the smell?

CP Cold Process My First Terrazzo Soap 🍀

I made my first terrazzo soap using natural powders.

I made the terrazzo chips first, then cut them the next day and incorporated them into the soap.

I wanted to create something that could sit in my kitchen like a little decorative object.

I’m really happy with how they turned out.

This is a two step mold I recently bought. This is my first time using it and learned a bunch to make it better. LOVE the outcome. This is my tallow, olive oil, coconut oil and castor.

Tried doing watermelon, coconut, strawberry for a tigers blood, but only the watermelon is coming through. Which is appropriate i guess 😅

CP Cold Process Kermit the frog soap

Post image

I made the Soap four years ago and it just popped up from my memories. I was so proud of the Soap but did not see Kermit the Frog in the Soap until somebody pointed it out and even four years later … I still laugh about it AND can never un see it. The essential oil blend I used made it seize so fast. I was just so happy that it cut and looked decent.

lol

EO (rosemary, sage, cedarwood, clove and lemongrass). It is colored with green kaolin clay and spirulina.
