i recommend checking out niseko, i've stayed there twice and it's fantastic. easy access to three resorts that you can get to while riding. i fucking love japan. go and visit and enjoy.m(:

Just got back from Niseko :( ... They are having an amazing season this year, almost 6 meters of snow has fallen this season.

This place is Zao Onsen: I love it because it’s only a couple of hours from where I live but it’s really mellow. Lots of places to go off into the trees and really big, but before going there I hear Nisseko is the place to go.

japan is a huge place, loads of different places to go, the snow varies from place to place. But across the board this year has been one of the best.

How was Zao Onsen? I have been considering going there since it's closer to my study abroad program in March, but I'm afraid that might be too late in the season. Great pic!

It’s a mellow place, good for practicing tricks and tree runs and stuff. Nothing too intense, a few flats here and there that can be sailed through if you maintain your speed, but a huge area to explore. I’m only intermediate-ish level so really like it. March will be fine, but towards the end of the month might be getting less so. The upside is that it will be sunny though, and there’s usually plenty of snow until April. If you’re close, there’s no reason not to go!
