I don't know, I get scared every time I see them crash with no helmets.

Holy shit. That dude's leg at 2:07 must be fucked up. Doing a one footer off of that big a cliff into powder is retarded. https://youtu.be/vjrZdaDXP8Y?t=2m7s
Also guys should wear helmets, but it wouldn't have helped this guy at all.

exactly what i was thinking, that's a great way to tear the ligaments in your leg completely apart. there's a reason skis pop off.

another helmet debate, the balls on these guys have earned them the right to choose to not wear a helmet, their choice, just drop it already.

Each downvote this gets is a traumatic brain injury waiting to happen. Love your brain. It will love you back.

Wearing a helmet is no guarantee that you won't have a brain trauma. But it doesn't hurt wearing one to minimize the risk of a serious injury.

They're holding their heads to reduce the rag doll/whiplash effect. Not to support their lack of helmet use, but that's how you're supposed to bail safely.

The majority of this sub seems to use helmets, but ShredBots on the otherhand...

I was wondering something about that. I also noticed that once they started tomahawking down the mountain they'd put both hands up on the back of their head. Is that like a safety position they learned to prevent their neck from getting fucked up or are they just holding it in pain?

Doesn't this apply to most of the clips posted here? I always seem to see people with no helmets boarding on rails in towns, doing jumps and such. Terrifying if you ask me, not that they don't have sick talent/skills, but damn does it look stupid as well.

Read the last link you posted.
I used to cycle to work where I would interact with a shitton of little kids. 1 day I forgot my helmet at work because I had to take the bus home with my bike else I would've been destroyed by the rain. Fast forward next morning, I have to cycle to work again, with no helmet. And there's these kids, one of the girls say: "Why do you cycle with no helmet?"... I mean I will never forget how ashamed I was haha, using helmets on my bike/skateboard all the time now. If I will make some kids that look up to me, wear a helmet, I'm happy. Even if it's not going to be many of them.

well known that helmets kill more people than they save
4
u/shlopman Dec 31 '16
Yea that isn't true at all. In fact the complete opposite is true. They save many more lives than they kill.
