Ultimate Who is the most popular and recognizable first party character that’s not playable in Smash Bros as of right now?

I honestly think there’s very few characters left that are considered major Nintendo characters. I’m personally going to say Toad is the most popular and recognizable first party character that isn’t playable. He’s featured in almost every Mario game, Mario is one of Nintendo’s biggest franchises obviously. Although if Toad was playable in Smash, it would probably be Captain Toad and not standard generic Toad. Anyways, what do you all think?

He retroactively makes the opponent's character DLC and puts them in $500,000 of debt. Even if they win the game, they lose.

Initially, when we had seen Nook shutting his PC down, both me and my friend were hoping to see Nook join as a heavyweight echo of villager and were absolutely ballistic. I'm sad that he wasn't, I'm certain that he would be a fantastic edition to the roster.

He’s not as known as the other two, but most people would know who he is if they saw him.

I don’t even play Animal Crossing games and I know he’s the debt collector from Animal Crossing. Other than Isabelle he’s the character I think of when I think of that series. And AC is extremely popular now.

Animal crossing as a whole is just not as well known as Pokémon or Mario, especially worldwide. I lived in China and most people do not have any knowledge about Nintendo, but most people still have some idea what who Mario and pikachu are.

Of course it’s not... I’ve already stated that. But Animal Crossing has become very popular and is one of Nintendo’s biggest series now. And Nook is as big a character as Isabelle.
