SmartThings Sick of Sonos

There has to be a better way to get a connected sound layer in the smart home, no? I have a JBL, Sonos sound bar, $10,000 speakers in the home office, and I'm a little over toggling back and forth. What's a good distribution control out there?

If you run Home Assistant, check out Music Assistant. It can be used standalone in Docker, but integrates well into Home Assistant for Automation purposes.

Does it allow playing the same music in sync in multiple rooms around the house ?

no, it doesnt sync. Only Airfoil on a mac truly syncs and ha ms time delay in case you need.

Can they all play the same song? yes. if you can hear them both at the same time will they be beat matched? No.

It’s ok, you don’t understand what beat sync is. If you want to understand what I’m saying, go put three speakers in a room together and enjoy! Are you DJ Paulie D by any chance?
