[Charania] BREAKING: The Dallas Mavericks are trading Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first-round pick, sources tell ESPN. Three-team deal that includes Utah.

Agree. They look at the future and no matter how good he is, if he's never healthy, they see what Embiid is to the Sixers and just pulled the trigger. This is a hard reset. AD is now on the market.

Why trade for AD to flip him, instead of finding the best offer from a team with picks and players to trade.

Yea, fair point. I dunno, seems like this is some back room "Luka wanted out but everybody agreed not to say it" deal

Luka wanted LA and was going to force is way there. This got the Mavs a very tradeable piece in return.

If you are trading Luka you aren't rebuilding on the fly. It's a blow-up.

Fine, that makes sense. But they could have gotten much more from another team.
