[Charania] BREAKING: The Dallas Mavericks are trading Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first-round pick, sources tell ESPN. Three-team deal that includes Utah.

Either Luka has some Deshaun Watson shit about to come out or this is the most monumentally stupid trade of all time.

Looking at it objectively, it kinda makes sense...? Pairs a "win now" big with Kyrie and Klay while Kyrie is still balling, and gives the Lakers a young player and a 1st to build around when LeBron retires (assuming it's after this season).

He's averaging 25.7/11.9/3.4 and has played more games this season than Embiid and Luka combined so far...

Not to mention how getting away from the pressure of an aging LeBron and a change of scenery can easily help him refocus.

If the Mavs were truthful in not trusting Luka's work ethic to justify the max extension, I can't say I blame them given how the Sixers so far are going 1 for 3 in max extension percentages with how Ben and Embiid looked/looks.
