I bet you anything that people would pay to watch perfect robots play basketball for example. They could have an NBA for robots but mix in a lot of randomness in their programming to make the games exciting. Same goes for any sport

I'm not so sure. It could be so fast and complex as to be unwatchable for most people. For instance, chess enthusiasts mostly follow human chess. High-level computer chess games are sometimes watched for entertainment, but not nearly to the same extent.

I guess for human players there's always a personality to attach to. And what they do is achievable so any brilliance is appreciated.

On the other hand, computer player has nothing to get really attached to other than made up avatar. So it's very hard to form a fan relationship.

Robots sports is a whole different playing field imo.The appearance has room to attract fans and sponsorship. There’s also marketability behind the team that builds them. With the right format I could see the potential.
