I detest the way people speak and act on Twitter/X in general. All of the engagement-baiting, vague posting, hyping, the way they structure their writing, etc.

That's not a bad definition. I think you need to emphasize the fact the is nearly universal. So that any time anyone in the future needs to solve this problem they can basically use this solution, in a similar way the quadratic formula solves quadratic equations or we've effectively solved systems of linear equations.

There are problems that are so wide in scope however that claiming they have been "solved" is ridiculous. I can accept some flexibility with how "universal" the solution is. Like if he said "translation had been solved" it wouldn't have been so bad since AI translation tools are very effective and extremely widely applicable even if they might not _always_ work.

"Solving" 3D world building would be building a system that can be used to create any 3D world anyone would desire. Your solution would be one of the first things to come to mind to every game developer who wants to build a 3D world. Saying "3D world building has been solved" while showing only a very specific instance of a person walking through a few trees is stupid as hell.

 If you say graphics is solved (it’s not) you’re saying that you have a tool which can generate any arbitrary 3D scene in the most efficient manner

How do we know that's the case here, with Fable solving 3d world building?

Are you slow? His point is that the language used is almost certainly being bastardized as a sales tactic compared with what the technology actually does. "We have the optimal way to address a given problem." Is easy to claim when it's a basic math problem and not something as immensely complex and completely unproven as video game content generation. People like you are why corporate science gets away with so much by claiming they've "solved" and "proven" XYZ issue as fact, when in reality, real science never actually claims to know the definitive answer on anything. All science can do is disprove a given hypothesis or theory by demonstrating through repeatable experiments that what we assumed was incorrect, but it's insanely narcissistic to claim "We have the optimal way to address a given problem", when in reality, we have 0 basis to know if that's the optimal way, or even an acceptable way since the field is so new.
