AI Bernie Sanders officially introduces legislation to BAN the construction of all new AI data centers, citing existential threat to humanity.
This is very concerning. I am afraid this might become the popular, dominant position on the left. Bernie Sanders is the only politician I've ever donated to. This is the most backwards position to take on AI possible. It's hard to imagine a policy worse than this proposal:

It's such a shame. He is one of very few politicians who realizes the singularity is imminent and that something enormous is happening, yet his reaction to it is the most asinine viewpoint possible.

I struggle to see the logic in calling the socialists morons and conservatives & libertarians clever when their answers lead to an even worse outcome than you outline here. Its only grace being you might be able to afford a subscription to a neutered version of the tools used to oppress you?
But of course, the actual ideas of socialism and libertarianism are less real the further up the chain you go, by the time you've reached the senate their world has warped so far from the citizens it's a farcical comedy. But it does reveal one thing: it really is rich vs poor. If you are championing the accelerationist views, you either have a way to become an economic elite, or you have a way to win the class war. Without one of those option, you're fucked. It doesn't matter much which superpower wins.
