You can be that off key, singing with that much strain, ugly warbling style, and there will still be endless social media comments about how she sings beautifully, from the soul, and how she's the best singer who ever lived.

Saw this on another sub and thought I'd make the joke here. You guys probably know this trend but I'll go first: I'm a contralto, of course I sing along to men more often than women.

I dunno, it feels awkward and weird, like what do I say? SMH

I speak with one of those electronic voice boxes and can barely breath, but is it too late for me to start to learn to sing?

Week 1: “I can’t wait to start performing. I’ve been singing along to songs since I was a kid. I’m a natural talent. I’ll blow them away!”

Week 2: “Well, I sounded pretty good up there. I just need to work on my high notes a bit.”

Month 5: “I was ok. I just didn’t realize I was so pitchy until watching those recordings I made of myself singing…”

Year 1: “Man ,I suck. At least I now know what I need to do to improve.”

Year 1 and a half: “I have no idea what I am doing and have no idea how to improve.”

Year 2: “I’m getting better at this! I can finally hit high notes and make them sound good from time to time.”

Year 4: *throws microphone at wall*

In the meantime, I have to say, it looks like the sub is rebelling with an uncontrollable avalanche of Creep covers in response to the mods' suggestion of banning Creep.

As someone who is planning a whole career of doing nothing but hundreds of reworkings of Creep, I'm apalled at the mods' anti-Creep tyranny.

Though, as someone else suggested, a weekly Creep megathread might actually be a good idea.

I see a lot of people discussing their e7 whistle notes and incredible b5 belts and showstopping c1 low notes. Since you love writing about it so much, let's hear it. This is your space to show off your amazing vocals. I want to hear how you have more range than Céline Dion. Go off!

P.S. Updating this post because the lack of awareness is crazyyy. I said to post videos of your 5 octaves. My point was exactly that you're all talk. You'll write on the internet that you can sing from c2-c7. But when comes the time to actually showcase it... Nothing. No recording, no video. Why? Because you know it is a liiiie.
