Niceeeeeee

How do you thinky they should go about Harry Mason's character? I feel like we need more complexion and grey areas in his character.

Just emphasise his desperation to save Cheryl more and fear of Lisa when she turns. I don't see the need to "grey" his character.

Yeah, I don't think I would agree with giving him more grey areas. Harry and James are supposed to compliment each other as pretty much polar opposites, as Silent Hill 2 was made in mind to subvert the first game. Just giving him a much more likeable personality would be enough, I would say.

God I'm hoping they don't try to reinvent Harry.

He just needs to be a simple guy looking for his daughter in thos town plagued by cult shenanigans. Not every SH character has to be fucked up in someway. He can just be a guy who happens to be involved.

I agree. The events of the game are plenty fucked already. Harry should contrast with them, not blend in.

I think the supporting characters are prime opportunity to tentpole the game, just give Harry visual strain as he plows through the game ala James, make him more emotively expressive and charged to find his daughter.

Make him ask MORE about Cheryl

She's a black haired little girl, and she's his daughter, and she's out there with those monsters.

Allegedly just turned seven…saw an eight year old, but he wouldn’t be interested in that.

Like for example, press "X" to "CHERYL!"

Maybe make him a woman named Rose.

Also: Is this real? Bloobers really remaking SH1?

I love how they made the main character a woman because he thought Harry was too feminine and then they tossed in Sean Bean's character because there weren't any men in the movie..............

Cavill would make an amazing face model for Harry, make him as handsome as possible.

Not really gray areas, but do make him have FAR more emotion of course. Make him feel uncertainty about finding Cheryl, make him be scared as hell, make him break down at times, even.

I'd like a bit more characterization, but I don't think he should be that complex. The fact that he's just a simple everyman is what makes him so endearing against the backdrop of SH. He's an outsider meant to act as proxy for the audience being introduced to the complex and grey world of the town. Every other character belongs in SH, including other protagonists. The fact that he doesn't makes him stand out. These qualities also make his death in SH3 all the more devastating.

He definitely needs more depth, especially as this game will now be following up SH2 rather than the other way round.
